New Armana Furnace

Tony came out (we're just outside Hamilton) and gave us a quote. He was much less "salesy" than the Enbridge guy who completely put me off (that's another story). In fact, he said my house needed around 80,000 but Armana only made a 90k and 70k version - to my surprise he recommended the smaller (and cheaper) model - saying in his experience will do. Anytime a sales guy goes with the lower model, I like it.

Install went fine, no issues. So far, the furnace is working well. But like most things I've had done (new garage doors, new windows) - the true test is how things are in years to come.

Furnace and A/C

Chris Ireland and his team installed a new furnace and A/C unit for us. They did a nice job and the price was very competitive compared to the other quotes that I got. So far the equipment is holding up well. No complaints - very professional service and prompt communications. I'm surprised to hear that Airworks has changed hands, but perhaps it was just a merger/buyout rather than the closing of their company. They should link their old web address which is currently not working to the new site.

furnace & AC install - Jan 2009

We got a furnace & AC installed in downtown Toronto in Jan 2009. Person responsible was Chris Ireland. Fantastic communication, chose them out of 5 companies because they had the best plan for install. Was not the least expensive. Went with Armana for both units. Install went very well.

June 2009 - went to use AC for first time, and noticed wires in the way of the fan in the outdoor unit. Upon calling Airworks for service, got routed to a different company. It appears that Airworks may no longer be in business. Details are scarce. It is a mystery.

I can recommend Chris and his work. I do not know whether Airworks is still a going concern.

installation of high efficiency furnace

Attentive, quick, direct, even careful with my wood flooring--Airworks did a terrific job installing a new, high-efficiency furnace. Both the owner, Chris, and his employees set a very high standard. I recommend them highly.

new high efficiency furnace, filter, humidifier & AC

After consulting with other companies, we decided on Airworks to install a new furnace and air conditioning unit. Chris was very helpful and supportive and the technicians did an impeccable job--they were clean, courteous and friendly.
We will be contacting them when it comes to replacing our hot water tank.
Thanks for the good work!

replace furnace vent

Obviously this company did not want such a small job. To replace 20 feet of vent they quoted $350 for materials and $134 an hour for labour suggesting that it would likely take them 3 hours to do the job. I priced all the material required at a large box store (636 vent + elbows and glue) maximum of $75.

My point is, if a contractor does not want a job just say so... don't try to snow the customer with an outrageous quote hoping that being naive the customer will take your offer. That's dishonest!

Furnace cleaning and checkup + new humidifier

Afer reading the reviews here on homestars I decided to have Airworks conduct the cleaning and inspection of our furnace in our just purchased, 10 year old home. Jaz arrived right on time on the scheduled day and was polite and courteous, even taking off his shoes without being asked. I showed him the furnace and he got down to checking things out. He first took the time to point out some of the general issues that people face with furnances of this type and age and had also noted the work that the previous owner had down without my prompting. He took about an hour to inspect and clean the furnace and then showed us some issues with the humidifier. The previous had installed the humidifier and had done a poor job. It was not tied into the 120V supply properly and the humidistat was in the wrong location. He quoted us $389.00 for a new digitally controlled humidifier installed. We called a week or two later and scheduled for him to come back and install the humidifier. However, instead of Jaz, Costas arrived, who had the wrong humidifier model. When I pointed this out he immediately called the office to determine where the mix-up occurred and then returned to the office to get the correct humidifier. He was back in about 15 minutes and got right to work. Again he was very polite and courteous and was very knowledgable about the humidifier. After about an hour he finished and showed me how the unit worked and reiterated that if we had any issue, to call them and they make sure things were working correctly. All in all they gave very good service and I would recommend them to others.

Installed new high-efficiency furnance and hot water tank

Not knowing who to hire to replace our "green goblin" furnance from the 1970s, we selected three heating contractors recommended from Homestars. Chris Ireland at Airworks was one of the best, and gave us excellent information on replacing our old and gas guzzling furnance. We installed a new Amana furnace, a humidifier and a new hot water tank. His team is excellent in not only installing, but also cleaning up afterwards! The work they did is immaculate. Although they had to return to put our new hot water tank a week later, they completed all the jobs hired to do and worked around our schedule.

They also provided us with all the information needed for those rebates. We're looking forward to significantly lower gas and hydro bills.

Thanks to Chris and his team of installers. Very professional, and they stay until the job is done properly! I will highly recommend them! Great communication from start to finsih. Thank you so much!
