Wrought Iron Door inserts

We ordered 2 Wrought iron full size and a transom from Jeff. Second house he did for us. Inserts went in perfectly, and transom went in 2 weeks later as promised. Delighted with Jeff, Randy and Angela in the office.

Wrought Iron Door Inserts

We recently moved into a home off Farmstead in Milton and ordered 1 doorlite and 1 sidelite from Jeff at Academic Glass. He showed up on time and he was much friendlier than the aggressive guy who knocked on our door the day before selling wrought iron and air conditioners. Our budget was about 1,000 for this job and Jeff directed us to the most affordable brochure. He had good advice about style and the job came in cheaper than budget. Usually window salesmen try to get more than the consumer's budget, but Jeff actually tried to get us in for less. We appreciated that. His brother Randy came in and installed the door insert the next weekend and the sidelite came in a few weeks later. They cleaned up the front area and gave us genuine advice about painting the frame. We were completely pleased with the interactions and the service and recommended them to our friends who just moved into Binbrook, where they did a double door and they are happy to. Highly recommended.

Shyster!

Don't do business with this guy. His workers broke the window they were replacing so I don't have it as a back up. Didn't seal around the window producing condensation and causing a nasty, sticky substance to drip down staining my door. Flyer says, "Fully Warrantied" but unwilling to even return a phone call after two months to give advice about how to remove the drip. I guess I have to repaint my door. Thanks for nothing, Jeff!

$1,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Hire more careful workers, live up to your promise of "fully warrantied" for "years to come".
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Just steer clear of Academic Glass. Don't waste your time.

Door inserts and Sidelites Installed by Academic Glass

We had used Jeff and Academic Glass in our 2 homes in Mississauga before moving to our new home in Alton Village in Burlington. We had done single door brass inserts with them when they started in the 1990's and we had no problems with the units. But we moved into a new house that had clear open windows in the door in Alton and a guy came up from a truck with door inserts on it the same day we moved in. We should have taken our time and called Academic but we were stressed out about moving and I was in that rushed state of mind. So we let him put two wrought iron full size windows in for us for 900.00. We paid him cash, and the next day we noticed that some of the white frost privacy glass was missing- it looked scratched off on the inside. We also noticed that the door was cut a little too high and there was some embossment showing at the bottom. We called the guy and wrote him on his website but he didn't respond. When we settled in, we called Jeff at Academic and we chose 2 stained glass inserts and also ordered the sidelites. He said that the size they had installed was not the correct size. So he got us the correct size and he helped us to choose the right privacy glass for our needs. The job was done on time, and we have had many compliments on it. I recommend this company highly. Angela in the office was totally nice and the two installers cleaned up after themselves. And Jeff let me pay over 6 months. Sometimes we are in such a rush in this world that we forget to be sensible when we purchase things.

Glass doors and shutters

We found Jeff at Academic Glass through a flyer and he came and did a quote for us on our doors and shutters. He recommended a specific glass pattern for our front door and shutters for our bathroom in our bedroom. We are very happy with the doors as it really brightened up the front hallway. Made a big difference. We are very happy with their product and service.
