4 U Furniture Centrepoint

I'm going through exactly the same scenario as most people here: couldn't deliver because of the snow, deliver next week, I'll call you back in an hour, etc. Couple of weeks now, and nothing happened. Hilarious if I knew i can get anything at the end of it. Slim chance, by the look of it. Shame we didn't check this forum, or BBB before giving her the money.

How can we drive this crook out of business ?

My mother wanted to purchase from this store and I went to help her out. Marlee was very pushy and mislead us about the size of the couch (told us it was 7' and not 9'2"). Size was a concern because my mother only has 10' available on the wall leading to the patio doors. Marlee also pushed for us to buy the matching coffee table. My mother did not want to because she felt it would be too big and would overcrowd the living room. Again, Marlee insisted that it would be fine and even touched my mother's knee reassuringly, telling her that "if it doesn't fit, I will come and get it, Hon. No problem, whatsoever."

As we were discussing the purchase, Marlee said that she was going to write it up. She came back and handed me the credit card slip to sign as she had already processed the sale (I had agreed to put the items on my card until my mother could pay for them). We discussed the items again and she reassured us that there would be no problems and I told her that I would be back to measure the furniture. She kept the actual receipt asking for my mom's name and the delivery address. After I had signed the slip, she folded the bill of sale, handed it to my mother, and told me that she would call me the next day to arrange delivery.

She did not call the next day (a Monday) and I returned on the Tuesday to measure. The sofa was not the size she had said and I expressed my concerns that it would be too big. She told me not to worry, that it would look "fitted" and "fill the room nicely". I told her that the wall was only 10' and that we needed access to the patio door.

The next day (Wednesday), I returned and told her that it would not fit. I asked for a refund and told her that my mother would be in the following week (she had gone out of town to pack in preparation for her move into the condo). Marlee refused saying that she had told us that these items were 'final sale'. I told her that she hadn't and reminded her of the agreement to take back the items if they did not fit. She told me to look at the invoice, which she had written 'final sale' beside the sofa and the coffee table. Oddly enough, she did not write this beside the kitchen table, which we never discussed it being a problem in regards to size.

Despite this, she refused to refund me my money even though I do not have the items in my possession.

I immediately called Master Card and have initiated a dispute of the charges. I have also looked up information on the Ministry of Consumer Services website. I am within my legal rights, as are many complainers on this site, of receiving a full reimbursement of the charges. In the meantime, I am waiting to see how this will get resolved.

Why I did not found the reviews before I paid this terrible company. I had the same horrible experience like the other consumer. I bought a sofa the end of December 2010. 3 weeks passed, I still have not recieved it.That old lady is a "monteur" and is very rude to me. Everytime ii is me to call them to ask when they will deliver the furniture to me? Am I in Canada? Why don't we appeal 4U furniture Inc. to the court? We should do something together!! I bought 3 set of bedroom furniture from 4u furniture. It was my worst experience, and the worst customer service ever,,,,never!!!! When we buy the furniture, the old lady tell us it is going to be on your house this saturday,(within 5days). and she told me she's going to give a call. on that day, she was some of kindly... ... until saturday there was no call, no answer in the phone. so, I went in centerpoint mall and complaint about it.... and the old lady..blablabla she would give me a call on next day. but ..no call..... .. wow it have been like this for 4 times ... Does any one konw how to accuse about the customer service. by the way, it has been one month , i didnt get the furniture. if i go to the centerpoint mall, she again would tell me she's going to give me a call..... .... . Is she bosssssss? old lady...... SUCKS

oh my GOD these people are real scam dont dont dont buy any thing from them because i bought the dinning on september & whole table got broken in 12 days , i call them no one pick up phone i go into shop and ywell at that MARLIN the old lady she said she will send me new one but dont give my money back ....me & my husband think that we stuck now so we dicided to get the unother table back , now in just 2 months my stool cloth is ripped of ....i want to say other people****************please nevr shop there******

OMG - someone PLEASE do something to stop this company from selling a damn thing more....!!!!
We purchased a bedroom suite from them 3 years ago, and got such a run around - what a nightmare. After months of fighting and arguing, our situation was eventually resolved.
Stupidly, my wife went back to them to purchase a chest (you would have thought we would have learnt from our mistakes the first time round). We have been waiting for over a month for a scheduled delivery. We have been hung up on, dishonestly told things, and told that messages were left (which wasn't the case) by Marney, who let me tell you, has NO customer service skills whatsoever.
After telling her that I want my transaction refunded and that she dare not deliver the chest, did her story change and now we have been promised a delivery in 2 days. I swear, if this falls through, someone had better hold me back, 'cos I might go into their store and do some serious damage!

A friendly word of advice - DO NOT PUT A FOOT THROUGH THEIR DOOR. Surely to goodness, the trend of these exceptionally poor review should say something to a potential customer (coming from a person who went back again for some more abuse - as if the first time wasn't enough).

Better Business Bureau of Toronto, here I come.

What does this excuse say to anyone? (The woman used the excuse everytime)
"My delivery truck broke down" Replace the goddamn thing. Do you want business?
The woman SCAMS people. Never got anything deliver for months now.

This is the store from HELL!!! All reviews on here. could not be more truthful, this lady, (the owner, NOT manager) is the worst business owner I have ever come across, the biggest fraud I have ever met, and I am mad as hell that she is still in business, trapping new clients with her sales skills. I am planning to print all reviews and blow them up, then go in front of her store and show them to potential clients. Maybe that will make her move her --- and call the truck asap to pick up my merchandise from warehouse. But I have a feeling the stuff is not even here yet. Probably still in a container from China, which means another 60 days before I actually get it. I HATE THIS LADY! Why is she still in business???

What can be done here? 4U Furniture should not still be in Business. They really do rip people off from their hard earned dollars. The only thing they are good at is giving you the run around and making empty promises. All the reviews I have read so far is exactly what I am experiencing. Marnie is a fast double talking pushy sales person, who is untrue so much she can't remember what she told you. I am going to make it business to receive a solution from this company as I don't have $3000 to donate to any one.

Long story short: DO DOT GO THERE!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!
BEWARE! The store is on Consumer Beware List (http://www.consumerbeware.mgs.gov.on.ca/catsct/navigator.do?event:searchname=&&eformsId=5 ) and it is there for a reason. Also the store has also an F rating on Better Business Bereau ( http://calgary.bbb.org/ )with 23 complaints filed against business; Failure to respond to 6 complaints filed against business; 2 complaints filed against business that were not resolved.
Above all that the treatment you will get from Marney is so "special" that it will kill your desire for new furniture for the next 20 years. Funny is that even so, the lovely furniture store from hell is still open and lovely Ms. Gow is still brainwashing and manipulating poor Canadians into paying double.
Oh ya, forgot to mention, after you pay, you will:
1. get something else rather than what you ordered and paid for
2. get something rusty (she will most probably recommend you to buy CLR and clean it yourself and that is not rust it is sea salt..Duuuuh...)
3. get something defective (broken, missing pieces or whatever your luck is) and will be fed for months with promises of repair/replacement
4. you will be calling the store hot-line and maybe sometimes you will have the honor to talk to her in person but you will never get her promised call back (she is always "busy talking to a customer right now and will call you back as soon as done").
5. if you go in store trying to deal with the issue you WILL get the face "what the hell this person wants from me"
6. and many many many other surprises that will make you feel like it is Christmas in Hell:D

Right now I am preparing my papers to fill a complaint with the court. Fingers crossed they will shut her crap.
