Air conditioner -no refrigerant in system

They wanted me to replace the 5 yr old system with a new one for $3k or tighten flare fittings &add refrigerant for $850. When asked how long it would take to add refrigerant he said maybe 3 hrs. Wow 850 dollars for 3 hrs of work seem outrages and it was outrages to replace the whole system when the only problem was likely a loose fitting. I had another company do the the job and it cost $300 for 2.5 hrs of work and $50 for 394 ounces of refrigerant. Do your homework people this is not an honest company.

21 degrees one hour heating and cooling

Hello, I just wanted to take 2 minutes to let everyone know about what fantastic service I had from 21 Degrees Heating and Cooling. They Service a large area and did excellent work. You absolutely get what you pay for, they were not the cheapest but with the guarantees, warranties and professionalism, it was well worth it. The Furnace and AC are great and their follow was second to none. I would highly recommend them to any one from Brighton to Kingston. Very Happy Customer.

Goodman gas furnace

We bought a furnace in 2009 from 21 degrees and the first visit with the sales man was good. they installed it and that was good, and the sales man said that the next year we would get a free cleaning. that was all fine. 4 months or less the furnace broke down on a very cold day. I called them at am and told them it was a warranty job. you would think they would be here in the 1 hour or less. No, it took them 9 hours and its a 5 min drive from the store to here, My wives cousin works for the company and he said they said if it was not a warranty issue to charge us $100. the red light was blinking. Okay how many people other then a tech know how to fix that, he said his boss says we should take the cover off our self. I'm not going to do that, he said he checked off warranty call. when it came time for the free cleaning in 2010 they were no shows. then in October of 2011 we made another cleaning appointment. again no shows. they were coming between 8 am and 12 pm and I left to go out at 12:05 I called them at 1:30 and said where was your tech/ she said he was pounding on our door at 12pm. I said really that is funny I was here to 12:05. she said she called us at 12:05 and got no answer. I got home and looked at my phone. 2 voice mails. One at 12;28 and it was

Furnace

We had our furnace installed only to have it break down the same day, on the 7th. The furnace broke down again on the 9th, 12th, 15th, 24th, and 25th. Three different technicians were sent over in total (sometimes not coming over for hours after the call was made), and each time they fiddled a little with the furnace and declared it fixed. Obviously that was not enough. After having taken time off of work and slept in a freezing home for several nights, the final service call resulted in someone calling the furnace manufacturer (York), who sent someone out and determined an incorrect part had been used.

This begs the question why 21 Degrees' three technicians didn't figure this out in the first place or even check with York. Moreover, no gestures were made to make up for their shoddy service. No apologies; no rebates. One would think that after so many problems in just a few weeks, they would be proactive in trying to figure out what was going on and ensure we were taken care of. When we called to lodge a formal complaint, we were directed to call York because it was their system that was faulty. There was no offer to do that on our behalf.

This company clearly does not take responsibility for any problems, and they do not understand the fundamentals of customer service. We now need an air conditioner and will not be giving 21 Degrees our business.

Furance service call/service agreement

I purchased a furnace in December 2007 with this company. The sales person at the time was great and provided one year free service and cleaning. This person is no longer with the company. I wonder why?

In Oct. 2008, I receive my complementary cleaning which took all of 5 minutes. In March 2009, my furnace was not working. Four calls were placed to the customer service line in one night with no returned call. After complaining to the answering service for a 5th time the following day, I received a call back. I was informed that I did not have a service agreement therefore the cost to come to the house would be $150. I explained I had not received information for a service renewal, but would be happy to purchase one now. I was told that company policy stipulates that you have to purchase the service agreement prior to a service call. In short I was charged $150 for a service call and an additional $90 for labor; with tax the total was $269 for a 15 minute cleaning; no parts were necessary.

I explained the situation to the office manager the next business day via telephone. He claims a letter was sent to renew the agreement. He refused to compromise even though all that was required was a 15 minute cleaning; his response was both rude and arrogant. Clearly the manager was more concerned about winning a battle than retaining a customer.

I have taken my business elsewhere and strongly recommend avoiding Comfort Zone 21 Degrees for any heating and air conditioning needs.

heating/air conditioning

We are very disappointed with this company. We have had nothing but trouble from day 1 brand new a/c unit needed to be replaced, and brand new furnace was extremely noisy. Now the unit doesn't seem to keep the house cool. We called and they said we needed a larger unit, so we booked the date, waited and when we called them they had no record of the booking and the fellow we had booked it through has left the company......

I don't imagine this will make it to the reviews though, because it is negative.
