We had Alex and Mario do our fence and part of our neighbour's fence at the beginning of the summer. The job appeared okay, but upon closer inspection we noticed a few things. First, some of the fence posts installed were not tall enough to take into account the slope of the property. As professionals they should have made allowances for this. They fixed the problem by capping the post with extra wood to make to post appear taller - without consulting us. Second, there were several minor things to finish off the job. Alex assured us that he would come back, it will be taken care of, and that he was not 'one of those type of contractors' who never return. After trying to reach Alex via many emails and voice mail messages, in mid-August we finally spoke with him on the phone and again he said he would be over in the next few days. We finally gave up on him and finished the jobs ourselves. What a shame to spend a lot to money and experience such a lack of integrity. We would not recommend this company. We totally agree with Brock and Sherry of North York's review as well, - it is not just doing the job that counts, you must be willing to follow up with your customers and make sure the job meets their requirements

Company Response

These customers pretty much complained about everthing, even before the fence was being installed. No matter want I did to fix the issue they could not be happy.

Our house is over 20 years old and windows were starting to go. We spent a lot of time looking at different companies and products. We had replaced all the interior casings a couple of years ago on all the downstairs windows with heavy moldings. We didn't want to replace those and Ambia was the only company we talked to that gave us confidence they could handle the job. We found Ambia through Home Stars where they got good reviews. The sales experience went very well - Tony came out at a time that was convenient for us, he was very professional and took the time to explain the product and find the best solution to our needs. He even met us met us a Window CIty showroom to review all the products. In the end, we chose the Heritage slim line window – the windows are all narrow and this style maximizes the glass area and doesn't have that bulky retro-fit look. The solution Tony came up with was to split the frame and install inserts - this preserved the original casings. Other companies were reluctant to do it this way or failed to even to understand what we were asking for. Tony's quote was also very competitive compared to the others. The key to any reno is the people doing the work. Tony has a great team of installers and the installation went smoothly. They cleaned up after each day and removed all the debris. They were very careful not to damage the casings while splitting the window frame and found the right wood trim to finish where the old window met the new. The end job was just what we hoped for. Tony came and inspected before final payment. The windows look great inside and out and performed well through the winter. We would highly recommend Tony and Ambia windows.
