Reg was very quick to respond to my request. My garage door spring had broken and I could not get the door open. Reg was able to quote me over the phone so I would have an idea of how much the repair would cost. He arrived exactly when he said he would and took only about an hour to complete the repair and an inspection of my garage door. He walked me through what the problem was and how he would fix it. He also identified some other things that we both agreed needed repair, and he had the supplies on hand to be able to fix them. The cost was extremely reasonable - much less than I had expected which was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend Reg and will use him again if his services are required.

This was my third time working with Knight, but it was by far the largest project they took on for me. We needed to replace our deck, which was 16x10 feet, with a new deck. The old was was built very poorly and was actually separating from our house. When Ben the estimator came to look at the site, he immediately noticed the problems with the old deck. He was knowledgeable and took a lot of measurements to ensure his quote was accurate. We had drawings of what we wanted our new deck to look like, and Knight was able to provide an estimate based on those drawings. In discussions with Jeremy the owner (who was even answering my emails while on vacation in Greece) we determined the timeline for construction and a start date. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would to do the demolition of the old deck and to pour the concrete piles for the new deck. We were having some electrical work and some landscaping work done after the demolition but prior to the construction, and Knight's crew was able to work with our other contractors to ensure everything was done in the correct order. The day construction was scheduled to begin the crew showed up at 8:30 a.m. and worked through until 4:30. I was watching as they were working and you could tell they were taking the time to get everything exactly right. They were constantly measuring, levelling and adjusting to get everything perfect. They took the time to walk me through what they were doing each step of the way, and they explained how the construction would proceed step by step. They were more than willing to answer all my questions. For someone like myself with very limited construction experience, it was reassuring to have a clear understanding of the whole process. The next day there was a massive dump of wet snow, and I honestly would have understood if the guys couldn't continue the work. However at 8:30 a.m. they arrived again, and continued their work with the same precision as before. They painstakingly brushed the snow off small areas as they screwed in the deck boards, and repeated this step many times. The whole project took about a week of workdays to complete, and we were even able to make some small modifications to the design as we went (including a door for access underneath). They day the project was to be finished, I noticed a very minor error in a finishing piece. When I pointed it out to Ryan (who was incharge of the construction on-site) he insisted on fixing it, even though I thought it would be too minor to worry about. The following day (which was a Saturday) he came and corrected the error. I was so impressed by his dedication to ensuring I was 100% happy with the results. Without hesitation, I would recommend Knight Carpentry for any construction project a homeowner would need. The crew is easy to work with and it's clear they are professionals who know exactly what they are doing. They were 100% committed to making sure I was happy with the result, and even with my amateur drawings they were able to understand clearly the look we were going for and what we wanted the new deck to look like. I had been interested in having a solar power array installed on my home for some time, but I never really gave it any serious thought until Sun Solar and Electrical came out to do some work on my furnace. Evan was very knowledgable when outlining the kinds of solar power systems they had previously installed, and explained very well the technology and how it could reduce our energy bills. I was curious, so I invited him back to do a full solar assessment on my home. When he returned, he explained how he would do the assessment, what products they would recommend, and that they would generate a report detailing the cost of the system and the energy savings I could experience. We talked back and forth for a few weeks over email, and Evan patiently answered all my questions and clarified a lot of information for me. This exchange really built my confidence in Evan and Sun Solar and Electrical and really showed that they truly are professionals who believe in the products and services they offer. After signing the contract, it took a few months for all the components to arrive, and once all the pieces were delivered they scheduled the install. It took only about a day and a half to get the system up and running, and just like that my home was being powered by the sun. Evan handled all the paperwork, from the electrical permits, to the microgeneration application, and even facilitated the provincial rebate, which for the $5,200 I spent was about $1,450. After signing the contract I didn't have to do any more than sign the applications. Sun Solar and Electrical handled everything on the back end. The system has thus far been outperforming Sun's assessment, generating more electricity than their estimate for this time of year. I have had absolutely no issues with it in the three months it's been up and running. I've been looking forward to working with Sun again on a few other projects I have planned, and have been recommending them whenever a friend asks about my solar array. I have nothing but good things to say, and will definitely be calling on them again.

My neighbours and I are extremely pleased with the work Root Fencing did to replace our fence and gates. We were the middle house, so we got new fencing on all sides of our yard. From the moment Tamara came to do the measurements I could tell that she and Mark would be easy to work with. They took the time to answer my many questions, and even after the initial visit a chain of 20 or so emails went back and forth between us, with Mark and Tamara patiently answering each one of my questions. When the day came to start the project, they cam exactly when they said they were going to, and began right away. As construction went on, we were thrilled with the progress, speed, quality and look of our new fence. We followed their recommendation on materials and design, and we're so happy we did. It took about a week or so for the project to be completed, which is exactly the amount of time they said it would take. When it was done, they did a great job cleaning up the little bits from our yards. We've been getting a lot of compliments from our neighbours on how good the new fence looks, and every household involved in this project is absolutely thrilled with the end result. Sometimes when three households have to collaborate on a project it can be complicated, but working with Root Fencing was so, so easy. Darrian and Cheyanne were very easy to deal with, and it was super easy to set up the appointments for them to come and complete the work. As with all drywall, it took three visits to complete the repair, and they were here each time when they said they would be. Event hough my job was small they responded right away and were enthusiastic to get the job started. Sometimes when you have a small job it falls through the cracks, but Strongarm treated me like their most important client which I greatly appreciated. They work done was excellent. You can't even tell that a repair was done. There are absolutely no seams that are visible, and once it's painted it will look great. I'll definitely be calling Strongarm again when I need more drywall work done. I really admire the pride they take in their work and how they really wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the job they did.

Cody did a great job diagnosing, explaining and repairing the issue I was having with a leaking bathtub drain. He was quick to respond to the request, and was even willing to 'ballpark' and estimate over text when I provided him with some photos. He was a really friendly guy and definitely knew his stuff. He took the time to explain and show me exactly what the issue was and how he was going to fix it. It required some of my ceiling to be cut out, and when he was done he did a very thorough job of cleaning up all the dust and drywall debris. I had a very small drywall repair and paint job that was beyond my skill level, but still not a ton of work. I wasn't sure about getting quotes because the size of the job was so small. I contacted Call Jamie and he responded within 10 minutes saying that would be happy to give me a quote. I should add the Jamie responded at about 10 p.m. on a Saturday night - so I could tell right away he was committed to earning my business. Pam came out to do the estimate the following Monday, and she was quick and answered all my questions. She was in and out in about 10 minutes, and I had a written estimate emailed to me within 24 hours. The price was very reasonable, so I asked when they could start. When they said the following Monday, I was surprised because it was so soon. Sure enough, first thing Monday morning Brooke showed up ready to get started. She was great to work with and answered all my questions. I could tell by the way she talked about her work that she really enjoyed it and was committed to doing a great job, which she most definitely did. The quote said it would take 5 days to complete the work, but they had the job done in four. Four straight days Brooke came on time, and kept me up to speed on how the project was progressing. She even walked me through the process, explaining what she was doing at each step. Payment was easy to make via email transfer, and the amount quoted was the amount I paid. Im very happy with the quality of work done and how well and efficiently the business end of the company is run. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Call Jamie, and will definitely use them again for future projects.

Jeremy at Knight was extremely easy to deal with and the cost of the project was very reasonable. We originally had Knight out to do an estimate on replacing our backyard fences. Jeremy came, and was very knowledgeable and personable. We ended up delaying our fencing project, but as he inspired a lot of confidence after our first meeting, we had him back to give us a quote on redoing the baseboards and window and door trim on our main floor. Dealing with Knight was very easy. The whole project was scheduled, organized and designed over email, which was extremely convenient. Jeremy was always prompt to respond and wasn't at all put off by all our questions and concerns. He addressed each one quickly and clearly, and pointed us in a very good direction with regard to design. Despite our project being small (it was completed in just over a half-day), our emails were still answered promptly and all our questions answered very quickly. We are absolutely thrilled with the results, and the quality of work is evident. The smallest details were considered, and the end result is very, very good. In fact, the team must have noticed that one of my doors was sticking and repaired it. A very pleasant surprise and a testament to the care they took in completing the job. The cost was exactly as outlined in the original quote, with a couple of last-minute add-ons that Jeremy was happy to accommodate. I would not hesitate to recommend Knight to my friends and family, and look forward to working with Jeremy and the team on some future work we have planned next year. I used their online booking system on Sunday afternoon and requestre an appointment on the following Monday. About five minutes after clicking "Submit" I got a text confirmation with the time window I requested. On Monday I got a text saying when the tech was on his way, which was extremely helpful. Trent showed up on time and was able to diagnose and repair my dishwasher within a half hour. He had the part with him in his van, and replaced it very efficiently. He checked to make sure everything was working before he took payment. I've dealt with the "big guys" in terms of appliance repair in the past and Trent's service was far, far superior and exponentially more efficient.
