I have chosen Junk It twice now for my dumpster rentals as my 1st experience went better than expected. Both times I rented a 20 yard bin (14'x8'x5') as I had a lot of junk to be removed from my house. I did everything online as it was super easy to book a dumpster. Both times I had it delivered within 2 days. Even though my driveway is in terrible condition it didn't stop them from making sure there was no extra damage done to it as they placed a few wooden blocks underneath the dumpster. They give you a window of between 7am-9pm for both pickup & drop off but both times they dropped it off/picked it up between before noon. P.S. I must say it was quite entertaining to watch the truck pick up the dumpster so easily despite how heavy it was.

I went in looking for a TV for my brother in law's birthday. Found a 49" LG for only $550 which I thought was a great deal so I found Imran who helped with the purchase. I was in and out of the store within 15 minutes. I'll definitely return there at a later date as I need some furniture for the new house at some point.

Just like the carpet cleaning, I originally looking into a Groupon/LivingSocial deal but all of the companies had bad reviews and/or limited ducts without an option to pay for extra ducts to be cleaned. So back I came to Homestars (sound like a broken record) & found/chose Dave's Duct Cleaning based on the fact that they have almost 500 reviews with a 10/10 rating. I exchanged emails with Dave who booked me in for October 30 at 330pm. Also received a reminder email from Stanley a few days prior just in case I forgot. Mark & his fellow colleague showed up an hour earlier than expected (they called to ask if they could do so to which I said that's fine). They got to work almost immediately and within an hour or 2 they were done. Mark took a bunch of before and after pictures, that I now wish I had just to show my girlfriend the difference. He said he found about 30 straws in the ducts (from my girlfriend's old cat) which I found hilarious. We're about to start renovations in our kitchen so sometime in the new year I'll probably call Dave's to come back and clean them again when all the dust settles (pun intended). Thanks again!

I found Green & Spotless here on Homestars after doing a fair amount of searching on Groupon/LivingSocial, etc. I chose not to go with the latter 2 as none of the companies had good reviews, despite being quite inexpensive. Alec was quick to respond to my request for a quote & as such, I chose to book an appointment from there. Appointment was scheduled for Tues Oct 27 at 11:30am & they were right on time. They asked to take a look at the carpets first to assess the job at hand & then they got started right away. I moved most of the furniture myself so they wouldn't have to. I left just a 3 piece couch that wasn't much of a problem they said. The job took 2 hours despite there being 3 rooms and a dozen stairs. They were able to get most of the stains out. The stains that they couldn't get out were rust stains & weren't going to come out. I was still pleased with the job at the end of the day. Alec gave me his card when he arrived that I handed off to a friend who just so happened to be looking into getting his carpets cleaned and was impressed by Alec's work. I'll definitely call back Green & Spotless when I need my carpets done again in a couple of years.

I had this big ugly tree in my front yard that blocked off the front of the house that I wanted removed ASAP. My friends have even made comments on how ugly it was so I searched around for a few quotes and Derek gave me the best quote by a mile. (It was almost half of what the other companies I contacted were quoting me) Derek and his team showed up 5 minutes before the time they told me & within 10-15 minutes the tree was gone. I now have natural light coming into my living room! Derek even made a comment about it being the ugliest Juniper he's ever seen. If a tree removal company says something like that then you know it's time to get rid of it. I would definitely recommend Derek to anyone who needs work done. Thanks a lot!

I wanted to change my fuse box to a circuit breaker panel so I browsed Homestars and found Hotwire Electric. They were the first (and only) company I contacted & they gave me, what I thought, was a reasonable price to do the job. 2 guys(can't remember names as I had just woke up) showed up this morning (Nov 9) at 745am & were done by around 1045 WITH the power turned back on. (They had to wait for the hydro to come turn it back on). Looks great & they even labelled everything in the panel for me so I don't have to!! I'll need some more electrical work done in the near future so I will definitely call these guys back. Thanks a lot!
