Well if anyone deserves a 10 ...this guy does. I hired Bill a number of years ago as I had some difficulties with my gas fireplace. Came highly recommended! Not only did he fix the problem with the gas distribution in it but he restored my 15 year old fire place back to new. Added a view items to enhance the appearance of the flame and at no extra cost. Think it was about the same as what he charged me last week to restore a fireplace in our new home ( $160 ) that was about 10 years at least since it was last restored. I have hired Bill at least every other year not just because he makes my fireplace look like new but also for piece of mind knowing that every thing is operating safely!

Don't know what I can add to all the other reviews here. I had several of the 10 star rated companies listed here on Homestars come and give me a quote on a new roof for my original 15 year + bungalow. Most were all within + or - 10 %! I thought the quote from Roof Right was the best presented. Included links to all the recommended materials and also some recommended upgrades. Being a retired Project Manager I spent much of my time reviewing bids for projects and most of them the best price was not the deciding factor however the price from Roof Right was also the best of all the bids. In a addition to the owner Dave and the controller Veronic, the men that were on the the job were very pleasant and considerate of my time and property. Getting the job done was disrupted by weather, yet Veronic and or Dave Kept us very informed as to start and finish. I am quite pleased at the finished job and cleaning of property after. Highly recommend!

Very pleased with all the equipment Shift Air Mechanical Installed in my new house. Had to be time coordinated with a number of other contractor that were preparing our house for us to move in. Not only did they work well together, they even helped out each other. All the equipment was installed in the one day specified, which also met the quoted price. This was not the first house that Brent quoted us on new equipment as I had called him previously while we were looking at houses and had him show up at a couple of showings where he was able to give me some good thoughts and estimations on equipment for these house we were considering. The house that we bought the furnace was in good condition so we did not replace it but will be calling Brent when the time comes.

There are no words to describe the quality and quantity of work that Deb does! We were doing a quick Reno of our Condo to rent out. Couldn't much care about the colour as we weren't living there. Deb helped us pick some nice neutral colours, some rooms we had some dark colours and she recommended paint that would cover it easily, other rooms that were light colours she recommended a paint of less quality, savings us money! The last hour that she was paid for, my wife and I were doing some finale clean ups and she stayed half a day to help us out which partially included painting some doors and inside cabinets that were badly marked. She made my job of managing my crews of contractors that was working for me at the condo and my new home...meeting deadlines when other contractor were not. I have hired a lot of painters over the years ...from student quality to high priced professionals. I hired Deb because I needed only a low to medium quality paint job for a place I was going to rent, which was reflected in her quote, however to my surprise I got the quality that I would have got from a high priced professional that I had painting at my new house!

Homestars has been a very useful tool for me in the last couple of months buying a new home and setting up are other for rent. Advanpro I have hired previously and was quite impressed with the experience and expertise of there technicians. However this time I couldn't be less satisfied. New house and just spent hundreds of dollars putting in a new 5 in Honeywell air filtration system...with the factory filter cartridge, with less then a month in it he took it away and stuck in one of his cheap $2 filters and said the filter was putting to much strain on my furnace. He also told me that my igniter on the furnace needed to be replaced ...I explained I was surprised as the home inspector we hired did a thorough check on the furnace and indicated it was in fine condition. Yes they did brush clean all the ducts as promised, however I think most they sucked out of the ducts and sprayed them across the room. I will say another thing good about the company ...not the tech that came to my place...I called at the last moment to rebook the cleaning as some contractors were delayed . They were very accomodateing in rescheduling even with the 24 hour notice I gave them. In addition once the company found out about my experience they tried very hard to rectify my bad experience. Perhaps my 4 rating was a little harsh for the company to take because one tech was having a bad day. Mistakes can happen anywhere, how they are handled means considerably.

Our relatively new, still on warranty hot water tank broke down. The original company that installed it was no longer in business. Called around and Instant Plumbing was willing to honour the manufacturer's warranty! I was so pleased with the replacement of it with a new one and there work, I asked them to quote on another job of a outside broken water line that eventually needed to be repaired. They emailed a quote to me ($380 parts and labour) which I thought was reasonable for the job and a couple of months later called them and asked that they come to do the job as quoted. They were available quite soon to do the job, and did it within there quote! Gary did both jobs , with different helpers. Very pleased with them ...on time, nice workmanship, I am an Engineer, and meeting the quote as stated before doing the job was most important to me.
