We engaged the services of Maret's beginning several months ago and from what I heard from others who've hired cleaners, it's always best to reserve judgement of service until you've experienced that service numerous times. As such, I've waited several months to write this review until I can truly say I know what I'm talking about. With that said, I am so incredibly impressed with the service and quality of work we've gotten from Maret's. Both my husband and I are very busy professionals and with our first child on the way, a clean house is something we value tremendously, but has been difficult for us to fit into our busy lives. At first we were nervous to call a house cleaning service... can we trust them to do the job well? Can we trust a stranger in our home? We both hesitated for several months until we just couldn't manage anymore! After reading many reviews on HomeStars, we finally called Maret and hired Sandra, who comes to clean our house every two weeks. We are so lucky to have met Sandra... she's an EXCEPTIONAL employee. She's prompt, polite, trustworthy and works her butt off every time to ensure our house is spotless. I'm a very picky and detail oriented person, so I would always notice if something's not right. Sandra makes it right every time - even if I'm not watching her every move. Her attention to detail and quality of her work are beyond my expectations. Sometimes I'll check her work after she leaves and I'm never disappointed - she makes sure to even clean the little things most people wouldn't notice, but I would. I'm so glad I have the opportunity on HomeStars to write this review about Sandra's work... she deserves it! Also, Maret works hard to ensure all her customers are very happy. More importantly, as an HR professional myself, I can see that Maret treats her employees with care and respect. I feel good about supporting a business that truly provides caring, real employable work opportunities, especially for women. Maret has an eye for talent and it shows. Thank you Sandra and Maret for making us so happy and keeping our home fantastically clean and safe for our family. For those of you thinking of calling to hire Sandra now based on this review... too bad - she's all ours and we're not giving her up! :)

We contacted Toronto Clear View with very "last minute" notice, and were thankful that they were able to accommodate our schedule. It couldn't have been any easier... they came out perfectly on time, did what they had to to (and did it well) and were finished within two hours. The same day, we also had a gas line installed (from another company) and they were just finishing up when Toronto Clear View arrived and the paint on the new gas line was still wet. We greatly appreciated the gentleman (sorry, do not recall his name) from Toronto Clear View being extra careful not to get leaves and gunk on the new paint job. We were very impressed and would definitely do business with them again!

We recently bought a new gas stove and needed to install an outside gas line to make it work (our basement is finished, so outdoors was the best option). Our first experience with Northwood and we are very impressed... they accommodated our tight timelines, showed up on time, were pleasant to deal with, came in on budget and cleaned up when they were done. It was even cute to hear them laughing/joking while they worked... a clear sign of happy employees (which makes customers happy too!) The only "klufuffle" was my interaction with the he receptionist (hence a 9 out of 10)... unfortunately she was not the most responsive person and didn't provide us with a written estimate when requested (we had to call back to get this), one of her answers to my questions was "I don't know" instead of "I will look into and find out for you" and I still have an unanswered email for another question, so the communication/professionalism side can certainly improve on that end. But otherwise, I would definitely deal with Northwood again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends/family. Thanks guys for a fantastic job!

We've been putting off cleaning our carpets for almost a year since we moved into our new home as we've been hesitant to hire someone who may be "less than experienced" to clean our new zealand lambswool carpets (afraid they might shrink!). I was pleased to discover Fred from Soft Surfaces on HomeStars, liked what I saw with his stellar reviews and thought we'd give him a try. I was instantly comforted by his customer-oriented reception over the phone and felt even better about booking him as a result. I'm happy to report that we were more than pleased with Fred - he's truly "the nice guy"! He doesn't oversell or recommend things you don't need... he just does a great job cleaning your carpets (even your pricey wool ones) and answers your questions openly and honestly. He's 100% clear about his prices up front so there's no messing around when it comes to pay. In addition, Fred clearly paid attention to details by ensuring he wore booties over his shoes and laid mats to protect our floors from his equipment - it's always these little things I notice, but are really important to me as a customer. We'll absolutely be calling Soft Surfaces again for our future floor cleaning needs and won't hesitate to recommend him to our family/friends. Thanks so much for a easy experience, Fred!

So, I'll give him one point for showing up on time/making himself available at the last minute... but that's absolutely where it ends. Last year, we were very excited to have bought our first home and spent a few days after closing making sure it was all fixed up before we moved in. I was disabled at the time and needed assistance to ensure our house was clean and comfortable. Clean & Shiny showed up and the man we met was RUDE! He barged into our house with his shoes on and refused to take them off - even when I asked!!! He told me he couldn't possibly work without shoes on and was so loud and defiant - just flat out refused to do it - huh??? Can you imagine!? A cleaner who trudges their dirty outdoor shoes through your house - even on your carpet upstairs in and around our bedrooms. I was so livid with his disrespectful behaviour, I would have asked him to leave right there, but unfortunately - I was disabled and we were desperate to have the house cleaned as we were moving in the next day and experienced a no-show from another cleaning company the day prior. We felt we had no other options... from there it went from bad to worse... the lady who was working with him cleaned our bathroom and when they left, we noticed that she didn't even touch the shower tiles...they were completely full of soap scum and not even touched! My husband ended up having to scrub this down himself... we were so disappointed not only with the rude service, but also with the poor quality of cleaning. Please do yourself a favour if you're reading this review and BEWARE! Good cleaners are hard to find, so don't take your chances here.

We inherited a 25-year old washer and dryer with the purchase of our first home. Unfortunately one day, the washer wouldn't drain properly and this was the LAST thing we needed (we've both very busy professionals). One call to Brannan's was all it took... he came by the next morning - showed up exactly on time - and half an hour later had installed a new pump which works perfectly. Not to mention, he was very pleasant to deal with and extremely knowledgeable - even gave us his professional opinion of which washers/dryers are great vs. bad buys (unfortunately, the new products these days are not made to last that long). It will help us greatly when we finally decide take the step to replace our washer/dryer in the future. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who's looking for an appliance repair pro who gets things done quickly and with quality.
