...sorry there will be no hugs from me. This is what I have been told by more then one on site mattamy rep. It's an interesting line but, I doubt it is true. I'm unsure about what is under the walls and floors of my house and as the say go by I'm getting more and more concerned about it. It seem as I live in my new house (this is day three) I keep finding things that were not done or done sub par. Things that you would expect a builder that has no problem tooting their horn would make sure never customers seen. In more then one spot on my costly hardwood stairs the nails in the top plank have popped out of the face of the stairs. Something you couldn't miss when it happened or when it was stained, or sanded and then stained again (or was it). Internet wires that I can't remember how much I payed for each one (but it was a crazy price, like $200 a drop) not even working because someone had no idea what they were doing and the cable had bare wire exposed and was shorting it out. Needless to say I had to fix it myself so my wife could have internet and continue to do her job so we could pay for the place. All around the house there are things missing that finishing touch, and that is what this one is missing most. My general impression of Mattamy is now that maybe at one time they cared about the little things (like making sure my hood fan over the stove was vented outside and not into my cupboards) but who am I to think this should be done right. After all they have another 1000 house to build and if you want to yell too loud you know there is always someone else that is willing to buy your home. Over all I'm not very satisfied but, then that might be partly my fault. I bought into the line that they were selling a better home then anyone else... and maybe they do but when your scraping the bottom of the barrel for other builders it's not hard to put in a little effort and call your the best. Would I recommend them, sure, just don't expect anything more then you would get anywhere else.
