14 years ago Burgess built a bedroom and bathroom in our unfinished basement. Now we are having to rip out two walls, part of the closet, and re-frame the room to ensure it is both to code and properly insulated and framed. Initially we thought just the windows were leaking but when the drywall under the windows was removed, ice, at times an inch or two thick was revealed. Both outer walls are heavily frosted. The insulation and vapour barrier were not properly installed, causing serious issues inside the wall. Also the electrical wires are all loose in the wall, not attached to or passing through the studs. The walls are all black with mildew, the fiberglass is frozen to the wall, ice and frost is covering all the walls.
