We replaced our crank out windows 10 years ago. A few weeks ago I was opening the dining room window (not a window I use much) to clean the sill. The whole window fell out and smashed breaking the glass and frame. It took several days for Durabuilt to send someone out to look at the window and measure for a new one. This was a complete failure of the mechanism that supports the window as it was all bent and the screws all came out. The warranty on the hardware is a limited lifetime warranty and since this failed and caused the window to fall, I felt Durabuilt should take some responsibility. They gave me a slightly discounted price but it still is costing me $650. I have a second window that has never closed properly which they can’t fix without a significant cost as well. I had 6 crank out window put in and 2 have failed within 10 years. For the cost of these windows one would expect a better lifetime that 10 years.
