Modern Appliance

Our fridge and freezer suddenly stopped cooling one day, and so we called a few appliance repair places. Peter was very quick to respond, and although he could not come out that same day, he provided suggestions of what we could try in the mean-time to rule out possibilities of what the issue may be. Based on what I told him, he had a guess of what may be wrong and said that he could order the parts for the next day.

Peter came by the next afternoon and quickly diagnosed that it needed a new relay. When installing it, he also noticed a patch of ice build up on the outside back wall of the freezer, which may have had a hand in causing the unit to not cool properly (ice was causing vents to become blocked). He wasn't sure if changing the relay would ultimately fix the issue, but suggested that we try unplugging the unit for 24 hours to let the ice defrost, and see how it goes. If the unit was still not cooling after that, he said he could come back to see what else may be causing the problem. Unplugging it for 24 hours, and switching out the relay did the trick - it's been over a month since we had it fixed and the unit works great. Thanks Peter!!!
