Rona Home and Garden Centre

Poor, unwilling and rude. Half of the kitchen flooring was completed and then I was notified they ran out of stock on the tiles. They ended up taking out the existing ones then redoing the entire thing. Extremely incompenant, lack of knowledge and the staff are rude and unhelpful. When I complained to Rona, Rona explained to me that this is a self-owned store so corporate has little influence on their business practice. One word: FAILED!

I went to the store to buy a replacement light bullb but then realized that there was too many to choose from the shelf. I felt so lost but one of the staff approached me and offered help without my asking. Great customer service.

Checked out fixtures, taps, bathtubs, tiles etc at many locations but found a good selection at Rona. Reasonable prices. Good choice of ceramic tiles and options for heated floors. Many types of oaint available for the wall colours and white sinks and toilets are abundant.

Ordered laminate floor. Promised to have it in store for pick up 2 days later 10 days later, after I went to their store to check times, the product is still not in. Nobody has called me to have an update or appologize.

Over years we have been shopping at Rona for our home improvements needs. One time, we were looking for a piece of rubber mat to be placed under our washer/dryer set to reduce the machine vibration. The staff took the time to explain to us what options were available for our application. To our surprise, he also suggested that we try corrugated box first (a zero-cost solution), and if that didn’t work, we could then try something else. We really appreciated the staff’s honesty and his time to help us, and this is why we keep going back to Rona for their products and services. One the hand, Rona does charge a premium on their products. For example, recently we purchased a carbon monoxide detector from Rona for 31 dollars after 10% discount, only to find the same detector for 26 dollars at another place. Also, just the other day, we noticed that Rona increased their fireplace price by 10 dollars, which is a surprise to us since the Canadian dollar is so strong. We think Rona can do better by lowering their product price and maybe doing away with their long TV commercials which are cheesy at times.

When Rona first opened in Richmond, they had latex paint at really great prices but we didn't need it at the time so we asked an employee if we could buy the paint now and come back later to pick the colour when we needed it. He said sure and initialed our can so we could bring it back later.

6 months later, we decided to paint the kitchen so we took the paint back to Rona to have it tinted into a colour. Customer service wouldn't allow it at first, but luckily the same employee that helped us 6 months ago was there and he gave to okay.

Good to know that a person sticks to his guns.

The store service manager recommended the perfect shed for our size yard and it fits in perfectly with the backyard surroundings after showing the pictures. We have had many compliments since we have set it up.

The cutting department was very helpful in suggesting different ways of completing my project and they put in alot of extra effort to ensure i had all the right pieces.

The laminate flooring company that we had chosen to have our floors installed by cancelled on us at the last moment due to "no available stock". We wanted our floors to be done before we moved into our condo, so we were left with only 2 weeks to decide or find someone else to do them. We went to our local Rona store, and the customer service rep helped us pick out the flooring, gave us a demo on how to install it, and when he realized that their store didn't have enough flooring, he found it at another Rona for us. We had purchased an extra 2 boxes and we were even able to return the extra for a full refund. Great service and helpful staff.

We purchased a Luxo Marble Glass Bathroom Vanity from Rona. It was an neat item and Rona seemed to be only place that carry it. However, as good as the concept was and Rona is know for carrying this kind of unique item. They do not have the proper support to carry this kind of item. The cabinet did not come with any necessary hardware, Rona who are the seller of product does not even carry the proper hardware . We have to run around town to find it. This Richmond location in particular has a inventory issue. I go there many times only to find empty shelf to the things I wanted. I would go to other Rona location before I got to this Richmond store.
