Around the House

Jamie finished our basement a few years back and did a fantastic job. His skill and dedication are excellent. He is very relaxed and easy to get along with and have in your house. My wife particularly enjoyed that he always cleaned up after a day of work.

Towards the end of the project I asked about building a hidden bookshelf door in the basement. He took on the challenge, figured out how to build one, and we love it.

Over the years he's done a few other jobs for us such as building a great cedar shed in our backyard, raccoon proofed our deck, a kitchen reno, and a lovely walkway in front our our house. At this point he is our go to guy for all the things.

His prices have always been reasonable and well justified. He charges for materials and his time.

Around The Home replaced the carpeting with the solid hard wood flooring in the den and master bedroom. Each room had some non 90 degree angles making the job demanding.

The quality of the work is excellent. There are no visible gaps between the joints (ends of the boards), the seems (lengths) and between the boards and the walls. The floors are solid and level. There are no squeaks or any bouncing when walked on. The base boards rest on the floor boards not showing any gaps (no quarter rounds, no fill). The transitions between the rooms are perfect, no gaps and perfectly even.

The noise and the dust in the house were kept to the minimum as all the cutting was done outside. Much appreciated.

The employees were very polite and accommodating. We are completely satisfied with the work that was done and do not hesitate to recommend Around the House to anyone.
