I had Melodie from MEMO Exteriors Ltd come and remove old, and install new vinyl siding on one side of my house on May 31, 2024. Two of her employees spent 2 days installing it. On Oct 13, 2024 I noticed that a section of the siding was warped and not sitting properly, essentially bulging out from the house. I texted Melodie pictures of the defect. She denied that this was her issue and said she would have someone come and inspect it at my request. On Nov 10, 2024 after multiple texts to Melodie, she has still not come to inspect the defective work. She has basically ignored all my texts and washed her hands of this issue.
I had their work inspected by another siding contractor and they agreed that this siding was not installed correctly and the contractor is responsible to fix it. Since they have not taken any responsibility for their poor installation and defective work, I will be forced to take legal action to recover the cost of this work. This shows what kind of customer service you can expect from MEMO Exteriors Ltd. Beware and don't get caught paying for poor quality work with a contractor that doesn't back up their work. Its a shame that there are contractors who feel they can just walk away and ignore paying customers.
Update: December 2024 - After sending the Letter of Legal Action, I received a text the next day from Melodie advising that she will come and look at the defective work. They arrived the following week with the owner of the company. They removed and repaired the sections that were defective and offered to come back in the summer when the vinyl has expanded to ensure it doesn't warp again. So the issue has been resolved at this time.
