It seemed pretty obvious when we met Alex for a quote that he got "US". He was the first person we got a quote from and if not just for due diligence, we wouldn't have proceeded with any other quotes. As it turned out our gut and his quote were both great.
Our basement was a blank slate. We had purposed it for a kids playroom and an office but it was just a concrete box. With this blank slate Alex envisioned what the best layout would be. We wanted a bathroom and our laundry moved from our mudroom upstairs to downstairs. I also have a music studio and he immediately recommended sound proofing which was a great add.
Not that we had any mid reno major changes but they certainly accommodated all requests as the project progressed when we had new thoughts about small details along the way.
Terry, who headed most the framing, plumbing and finishing touches was great to deal with and was also very accommodating. Communication throughout by both him and Alex was excellent.
At one point the drywallers forgot to close the door and the house became covered in dust. Alex promptly had house cleaners come in and clean everything. So even though there was one stumble, he reacted quickly to ensure we were well taken care of.
Shoutout to the electrical guy they use too. I was a little obsessed with where all the outlets were, which smart light switches were used for what and I was just a general pest but he was super accommodating in all of my pickiness. He also was very accommodating with adding an additional plug for a wall mount TV upstairs and pot lights in our upstairs living room (at an additional cost of course).
All in all we could not have asked for a better or smoother experience in having our basement (finally) finished. It took about 5 weeks and most the project timeline targets were met... most importantly the guesstimated completion date was within a week.
Great job team!
