Sales rep and his manager told me:
1. After the equipment was paid for, the maintenance program could be assumed by the person to whom the house was sold (untrue) and that monthly payments for this program would not be required. Not true--full payment required upon sale of property
2. Under the program, all equipment would be replaced if it could not be repaired (also untrue. It is only a very ordinary warranty).
3. I was also told that Ontario Smart Energy cared about its customers and ensured that the interest rates would remain below market rates Also untrue, the interest is handled by a third party after the first year.
They had to return to fix an installation problem as well. If negative ratings were permitted, I would do so. After speaking to a manager, it is clear that the sales people are allowed to promise anything they please. Anything not in the written contract will not be honoured. Do not, under any circumstances, do business with this company.
Two months later, they have not submitted the rebate application for which I was told that I was eligible.
I did business with another company through a Enbridge rebate program and was very happy.
