The shared garage for our 4-unit townhouse building was being metered separately and we were tired of paying $70 a month of admin fees for $2 a month of power usage. Our request to those who quoted on this project was therefore pretty open ended. How can we cost-effectively unmeter the garage and supply the small amount of power needed either from one of the 4 units, or from an independent solar system? We posed the problem to three electricians. two of them gave essentially the same standard solution for about the same price, and Electrifying Dutchman (DJ) came up with something $1000 cheaper, that didn't require us to trench, and that still met all the needs of the required City electrical inspection. We appreciated DJ's responsiveness and attention to our needs, and his willingness to try something a little unorthodox that met our needs better. The inspector said his work was professional and met all the requirements. DJ was certainly a nice person and easy to deal with. We'd hire him again.
