Regular service revealed a heat exchanger problem with the furnace. I got a good explanation and quick arrangements for a replacement. The house actually has two HVAC systems because of its size and age - the other system was fine and just required service of the AC system that was promptly done.
The technicians identified some problems with the air supply and exhaust lines, and these will be remedied soon.
They know what they are doing, and they do it well. Lots of attention to detail.
