I chose Men in Kilts to complete a house cleaning service for my home prior to listing. I have a section of discoloured siding on the second storey of my duplex that I cannot access and was pleased to discover on the Men in Kilts website that they offer house washing. I called to book pressure washing, eaves troughs and gutter cleaning, exterior windows, and house washing for the affected section. The booking agent enthusiastically told me that they had several types of solutions that might work to lift some of the stain off the siding, which was all that I was after. However, when the technicians arrived, they were completely unaware of any house washing part of the job and informed me that they only have water to use, in fact they don’t use any different so.unions at all and were surprised that I was told that they could do this. I had them complete the services that they could and they did a great job on those things. In an email follow up, I advised their customer service team that I was very happy with part of the service as well as the friendliness of the technicians but explained that the confusion around the house washing and that this was the main reason for my booking with them. No response from them for four days. When I finally got a reply to my email, the rep apologized citing some kind of mixup on their end and promised me a make up call. The time was booked and once again, I mentioned the house washing part and repeated that plain old water was useless and that my house needed some of those “solutions” that were mentioned to me. No response to that email. Appointment time came and I waited and waited and no one showed up or called. My own phone call went straight to voicemail so I emailed again. The rep emailed back the next day saying that one of the technicians needed to be taken to a clinic and somehow everyone forgot to call me. A new appointment was booked and I mentioned yet again about the house washing and what was needed. The same technician arrived for the second time and told me again that he only had water to work with and couldn’t understand why I was repeatedly told that there were solutions available when he had never used anything like that. I thanked him and told him it was pointless to try water again and encouraged him to mention this to his supervisor as I would do as well. I wrote an additional email explaining everything again and that the technicians were not to blame, that their service was great but that I felt there is a disconnect between what the booking agents offer and what can actually be completed. No response. Nothing. So at the end of it, I paid just shy of $400 for gutter cleaning and windows and I’m still stuck with my discoloured piece of siding. I’ve worked in customer service for 25 years and am left shaking my head at how many times the ball was dropped here. I guess the bottom line is that Men in Kilts are good at pressure washing and windows but I don’t think I would ever recommend them to anyone.
