Romo Cornerstone Contracting Ltd.

Romo is a nice guy but is more expensive than other professionals. I still hired him because he was very confident about doing a good job and he promised to do it quickly. But as he progressed I realized that he may not be as proficient as he told me earlier.

The biggest problem was the drywall installation, taping and plastering. My electrical contractor had done the wiring for the potlights and left plates in the ceiling to indicate position of the future potlight installation. Romo took all of them off and closed the ceiling, because of which I had to bear the wrath and extra cost of the Electrician.

Secondly, the finishing was very poor, especially the edges and corners. The curved drywall for which Romo charged me a lot extra was the worst. Despite repeatedly expressing concerns that it was not a symmetrical curve, Romo could not fix the issue. I think he tried it for the first time without knowing exactly what to do. The shoddiness of the job got highlighted when the walls were painted. Now with all lights on, one can see every bit of imperfection standing out.

I have tried calling Mr. Romo many times but he has not returned my call. I am appalled that he has posted pictures of my basement, the good angles, on Instagram without my permission. Mr. Romo was also very particular about getting his advance and payment instantly. I paid him the full amounts in good faith but I am sorry to say, he did not keep his part of the contract. I am now spending extra money to get the deficiencies corrected. Sadly, I am also being ridiculed for using 'such unprofessional' contractor by the other contractors who think I used a cheap contractor to save money.
