The estimate for weeping tile was $1100, which I believed might be in the ballpark because of how much work there was, but I also trusted Donnie because of previous work.
Note that there is never any labor cost breakdown, amount of hours, and material costs on their invoices and estimates.
The job was completed in two hours. Donnie reduced the price to $800 and said it was a little too high. I stated that it only took two hours, and he stated that "there were over 300 dollars in material (not true) ". He asked if I wanted to reduce the price by $100, and I agreed but also said that I wanted to be honestly billed because I rely on the honesty of contractors. I received the invoice for $829.50. He reduced it to $700 and added a 75 dollar fee for removing material which was material he handed to me.
This was $830, which works out to $300+ per hour, and $50 or less for materials. This job was about $300 -$350 max. Honesty is not a part of this company.
Ask for a complete breakdown of labor rate, hours, material costs before even thinking about doing business with this company. Also, bring in at minimum four companies to compete and provide estimates.
It's sad that Donnie doesn't understand that shafting one customer for money is all the money he gets and doesn't understand that through honest, long-term relationships future brings thousands of dollars and more business through word of mouth.
We are not doing business with this company anymore because we only deal with honest and fair contractors.
Personally I made a mistake by trusting this company and not bringing in four other contractors to provide estimates.
UPDATE
The original post I made was how we were bamboozled for the work performed which was only about a $300 job max . and were charged 900 dollars.
Now after cold weather has set in my Sump Discharge pipe is frozen and is blocked inside the house. This never happened prior to the weeping tile installation. Omega and Donnie changed the discharge pipe to a 2 ft cheap flex hose that allowed cold air to enter into the system and freeze the pipe inside the house. I had to remove drywall, insulation, and heat the pipe until the ice block was removed.
I tried to insert 1- 1/4 " PVC pipe into the weeping tile but was unable to do so because of the 90-degree turn Omega put into the weeping tile install. I must now wait until summer to dig up this poor job and insert the PVC pipe which should have been done originally. I should have done this myself!!!!
I had to install the original PVC 1 -1/4" pipe system that was on top of the ground which was there prior to this poor installation. It would never freeze or cause such headaches.
So this review is to warn people using Omega, the installations may look great cosmetically but are non-operational. Omega really doesn't have any experience or knowledge when it comes to piping, sumps, or any other else except maybe planting trees otherwise this would have been problem-free.
Keep in mind they planted over 20 trees in our yard and they have all survived and are doing well. IMHO that is all I would use them for.
I have to redo what they did (900 dollars of wasted money)
