J called Jim for a SECOND opinion as our service provider said our furnace needs to be changed as there was something wrong with it, turned off the gas and told us not to attempt to run the furnace. No clear explanation was given except that there was a crack. They then offered us a new furnace. Believe ng we had no choice but to change the furnace we got two more estimates for the purchase of a furnace, with each giving Options and other conditions. One wanted to have our circuit breaker changed , one needs a water pump installed. My husband called Modern Home to check the furnace to Really see if anything was wring with the furnace. My husband was quite skeptical How the furnace would ALL of a sudden get a crack? Modern Home assured us that he Will check it. If something was wrong then we need to change the furnace and if not then he would just light up the pilot light and Ger it going. Jim came and in no time pronounced that there was nothing wrong with the furnace. He got it going and Stayed on to ensure the heat stabilized and was properly running. Jim saved us from spending money that we did not have to. Jim was friendly and went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. He also replaced our chimney cover that has rusted over the years.
