North Shore Excavating and Utility

I stumbled across Neal's business, North shore Excavation and Utility strictly by chance when I saw his company name and information on the side of his parked truck. I did not know Neal, nor was he referred or recommended to me.
After having several no shows, site visits and no quotes and quotes from companies who didn't call me back when I asked them to do the work, I called Neal.
He arranged a time to visit, but was unable to make it due to circumstances beyond his control. He called to make me aware and we made arrangements to meet another day, a meeting to which he arrived on time and prepared in order to give me quote that day.
This would be his practice during the whole project, he made me aware of arrival times, the progress of the job , the next steps and if they would not be at site on a given day due to emergencies, very impressed!
He laid down plywood to protect the lawn. and tarped the fill to prevent it getting wet during a period in which it rained.
He and Cory did a thorough job of preparing the foundation for waterproofing and provided me with pictures to show the application and back fill, tamping process below grade so I could see what they had done.
The application of the delta membrane and trim was very neat and all fill was graded and raked, looks great.
If there were any concerns on my part, Neal addressed them and if he was uncertain as to how he thought I would prefer any details finished he would speak to me or call me to clarify.
The job site was left clean, litter free, passed inspection by the Building Division and looks excellent!
I should certainly mention the the quoted price was what I paid and was by far the fairest price I was given!
I would not hesitate to recommend Neal Gray and his company North Shore Excavating and Utility to anyone based on my experience.

Neil did a great job of communicating what he was going to do throughout the job. He showed up when he said he was going to and was clear on when he would be completing each stage, which helped me manage another project that I was working on. He was very accommodating when I added several items to the scope of the job and he priced them very fairly even though they were not discussed prior to starting the job.
Neil also made sure that he was careful moving his equipment on and off of the property, to avoid any unnecessary mess or damage. Overall, a great experience and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

You won't get a better company to do this work!!! Neal and his crew arrived bright and early each day, worked so hard to dig up and seal our foundation and regrade so the water ran off from the house properly. There aren't enough words to cover their professionalism, hard work and how much they go above and beyond. Thank you guys!!! Look forward to our next project with you guys!

We had two areas that had moisture entering through the foundation. Neal was very professional and courteous. He made sure we understood the work that was being done and checked in often to confirm any preferences we had when options were available. They arrived on time and they left the property exactly as they found it. They even raked the driveway to remove any indication that equipment had been in use. They also used plywood to avoid any lawn damage when moving locations. I have already recommended him to friends and family. Thanks Neal & Will!

The work was done quickly and professionally and the state of the property was returned to almost the original state. Boards were laid out to protect the grass from machine tracks and dirt later dug up. Digging was done by hand until all wires were located then the mini backhoe completed the job. The cracks were located, ground out and filled with hydraulic cement. An adhesive was applied to the concrete wall so the the blue skin could be applied easily, once the blueskin was completed the protective membrane was installed and top up with trim for a great look. New weeping tile was installed and it was time to fill. The dirt was filled in to about 1/3 and the a packer was used to compact the dirt, this was done at the 2/3's level and the final layer of dirt. All done in a time frame that was agreed upon. Great work by Neal and Tony, I would highly recommend them for this type of job.

Neil called the day before to confirm appointment. He showed up early and had machine ready for agreed start time. His experience on machine was evident as we accomplished more than I expected and all jobs were done well and thorough. Professional and courteous. Very competitive rates as well. Would definitely have North Shore back for any future projects.

Our lawn was significantly damaged by mechanical machines. EXCAVA repaired the lawn including smoothing out large ruts across the yard and seeding and sodding. The job was well done and the results are great. The yard looks amazing. Special attention was paid to ensuring the sod and seed took, not just laying it and walking away, which is professional and shows integrity. We are completely happy with the work. And the people at EXCAVA are very personable and excellent to deal with.

We found them to be prompt, professional and very personable. Right from their initial quote through to completion of the job, they did exactly what they said they would as well as meeting any unexpected challenges and dealing with them. We couldn't be more pleased and would definitely recommend them.
