Full kitchen and bath renovation
We would not recommend Lami to do a full renovation as he is too expensive for the work he does. He is unreliable, messy, a great talker with disappointing results. There is not one place in our house that does not need fixing. In our kitchen he left a 2 inch gap where the baseboards do not cover the tile edge so we have no choice bit to do quarterround. Where the tile meets the stairs, he tiled flush so the carpet guy could not put a transition, resulting in the carpet not being installed properly. This was done even after he talked to the stair guy and was told how to do it. In our ensuite washroom I thought he did a good job until I saw a cracked tile on the floor. I asked him about it and he said he knew about it but installed it anyway. The fact that he installed a cracked tile when he knew it was cracked is what gets me the most mad. In the basement furnace room he tiled the floor so tight to the furnace that when we had the duct cleaning come in to clean our ducts he could not take the air filter out as Lami tiled too high and tight to the furnace. We had to chip half a tile out so the air filter could go inside the furnace. Lami also left all his garbage in the garage and said he was not resposible for clean up. He got mortar everywhere and complained that we made him get it out of the tiles and off the walls. If you are looking for a guy who starts at 10am leaves for 2-3 hours everyday and works until 5 he is your guy. Very disappointing and the sad part is I have another tile person coming in to fix his work and to do a backsplash a lot cheaper then what he quoted (which he quoted without knowing what tiles we wanted). He told us to order 40% more tile for "waste". Had we listened, it would have ended up in $2000 worth of tiles that couldn't be returned. We ordered less after discussion with the tile store. Overall, very unhappy with the result.
