Once the Christmas rush was over, we decided to freshen up some of the rooms in our house, including the kitchen and spare bedroom.
John of Empyrean painting was recommended by a friend as someone who was fair and responsive. He provided a more than reasonable quote., . He explained the challenges our older home might pose and some options to address them. With that, we made a decision to go ahead with painting the spare bedroom and he got started the next day.
Watching John work, we could see that he has a perfectionist to the core -- washing down the walls, priming, removing bits of old wallpaper. He even applied new caulking around the window, making it look pristine, instead of just painting over the old caulking. The difference was immediately apparent.
John was also extremely pleasant and accommodating to our schedule and worked well even with our four legged friend checking in on occasion.
We'll be getting him back to do the kitchen and cupboards as soon as we've settled on the colours.
And oh, by the way, as a bonus he even moved some old furniture out of the room that we no longer needed. A real help for us as we could not have moved the furniture on our own.
