We subcontracted Clever Drywall who executed the drywall installation perfectly. His taping and mudding contractor, Ultimate Interior Specialists took longer than anticipated and frequently left to work on other projects. When it came time to paint, our paint contractor identified many deficiencies in the mud work.
Clever approached us with costing for additional work that we had agreed on to pay. When the costing was reviewed, he attempted to bill for items that were included in the original scope as well as the whole home was to be taped to level 4, which was not completed. When we addressed this with him, he become irritated and abrasive and told me to "be a man". When the tapers finally returned to finish, they left the home a mess to the point where we had to grind all surfaces because of the negligence during and after taping. There are multiple issues with corner beads popping, we count 17 locations to date within the home. There are air bubbles in the mud everywhere. We incurred significant cost for this and when addressed with them, our concerns were ignored.
We recently attempted to contact them with regards to the deficient work in the taping and were ignored. We attempted to contact ultimate interior specialists directly via Instagram and we were told not to contact them and blocked. We work in construction, have built many homes and note that the lack of professionalism when addressing "extras" and "deficient work" is of significant concern and we would not recommend Clever Drywall or his subtrade Ultimate Interior Specialists for you project.
