We hired Urban Roots to renovate our townhouse and we couldn't be happier with the results. Mark and Grant came highly recommended by our friends, and even still, they exceeded all of our expectations. From the start, they were patient and gracious with us -- during the design phase, we faced an unexpected and significant delay in the project. They took it in stride and assured us that shifting the timelines wouldn't be a problem. Once construction started, things generally went very smoothly, and whenever there were issues, Mark and Grant were upfront about them and made things right. We had a tight deadline at the end and really appreciated the hard work that the crew put in so that we could move back on schedule. Great communication, integrity, and quality of work. We love how it turned out and highly recommend their services.

Urban Roots did full scale 6 month long renovation to our 1,450 SF condo for my wife and I this year. Our office (a Vancouver-based non-profit) recently hired Urban Roots Build Co. to manage and execute a renovation project replacing carpet and paint throughout, upgrading bathrooms for better accessibility and setting up automated doors. Our team chose them because they offer the full package, could manage the whole project and complete all the pieces we wanted. AND they were willing to support the restrictions we had as a non-profit. We loved working with them because they made it easy and seamless, were flexible with our work and staff needs, professional and responsible and took care of our space. It was easy to rely on them and their communication was transparent and responsive. They kept us intimately informed of each stage of the process and worked to ensure our input was heard along the way. Several team members commented it was one of the most easy and smooth renovations they had experienced. Thanks to Grant and Mark for making a big project for a small organization feel easy. We love our new space!

We hired Mark, Grant and the team at Urban Roots to remodel our house, including plumbing, electrical and finishings. To say they were excellent is an understatement. Their team was professional, friendly, polite and focused on quality. Mark and Grant were able to provide well thought out solutions to any issues encountered. A notable example of this is during our shower remodel we wanted to expand the shower size but there was a beam that would cause a challenge with the plumbing. The plumber suggested increasing the size of the clean out post in our family room to accommodate this size increase. Mark came up with a much better solution using a customer shower base with an offset drain that allowed the plumber to plumb into an existing drain. This solution reduced the cost of that remodel item and ended up with a better looking end result working exactly as we wanted. In addition to their attention to detail and quality focus they are excellent communicators and respond to questions timely and with well thought out answers. I would highly recommend the team at Urban Roots and will use them again for any future renovations needs we have.

We had both bathrooms renovated, the main included removal of tub and replacing it with a rain shower and a heated floor. Also the kitchen has new cabinets, sink, counter tops and lighting.
Their tradesmen were first class.
There was never any problem with site preparation, to safeguard our belongings, as well as , daily cleanup and/or cartage.
We are very pleased with our renovation.

Grant and Mark at Urban Roots were flexible, cost conscious, and most importantly did excellent work. Our house is 100+ years old and the renovation incorporates a contemporary design that also respects the heritage aspect of our home. We were very pleased with the result.

Mark & Grant helped us when we were in dire need to properly reinforce a bowed exterior wall on our Pan Abode log home. We received many quotes from various contractors/builders. Ultimately decided to go with Urban Roots for their on site professionalism, past project portfolio, empathy, and comfort regarding their quoted price being on budget.

At the end of the day they did an overall excellent job. They worked with an engineer to provide an affordable permanent solution. I would not only use them again, but I'd go as far as recommending them to my closest friends and family.
