Title: Warning: Unfulfilled Contract and Lack of Communication

I engaged Trisztan of TRT Contracting for a project and unfortunately had a highly disappointing experience. Despite providing a downpayment, Trisztan failed to initiate any work and has since become unresponsive to my calls and text messages. It appears that he may no longer be in business, leaving me with a financial loss and an unfinished project. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering TRT Contracting for their services.

I met Trisztan for the first time in person when he came to collect a deposit of $17,000.00 for a project to commence November 2nd, 2023. He came across very charming, professional and super knowledgeable. The day before his start date he contacted us to advise us that CRA shut TRT down. He promised to refund our deposit on November 6th, 2023. Hes NOT responding to calls, texts or emails. BEWARE of TRT they have taken advantage of an innocent family!!!!!

Terrible craftsmanship, walked off the job only 10-15% complete because TRT is not capable of handling big projects such as structural work or additions.
The construction bin ordered by TRT has yet to be picked up, my backyard is scattered with construction materials with no intention of coming to pick them up after multiple attempts to contact TRT. My phone number has been blocked. The Instagram account has been disabled, the email address bounced back.

I brought on TRT to help my frame out my basement renovation. Their team was super helpful and patient with me as i worked through measurements ETC. Their staff was professional, easy to work with, and their price was very fair. They did an immaculate clean-up job at the end of their work, and their communication was on point. Overall solid experience and I will be recommending them to family and friends. Thanks Trisztan and team!

The work was done professionally, on-time and on budget. It continues to hold up well, 3 years on.

Trisztan did amazing roof repair for a flat rood for us. Another person, Sean, did work under the TRT banner and left us 30k poorer, and work done poorly and not all what he promised. Check to make sure Trisztan is the person you deal with.
Trisztan helped me figure out what had gone wrong, fixed our problem quickly and professionally, and was extremely pleasant to work with.

I would not hesitate to recommend TRT for any work they promise to do in a timely fashion. In fact, they will be doing more jobs for us in the near future!

They started the job on time, finished when they said they would and delivered it on budget. We're thrilled with the finished project and won't hesitate to recommend TRT Masonry & General Contracting to others. We've already had neighbors ask for their card.

If you're reading this, you must have seen the recent string of zero star reviews for Trisztan, and I'm unfortunately not surprised.

I hired him to do a small interior brick wall project and waited almost a month for him to start instead of going with other masons who could start immediately, largely because he offered a great price. I wish I had just gone with my gut and went with more established firms.

He kept pushing the start date back and back, until he finally showed up a week late to my house. He then told me he didn't feel comfortable doing the project because he had concerns around structural integrity, despite the fact that his own structural engineer had already okayed the plan. He quit the job via text message with no warning and I was left scrambling. I had waited over a month for him, which caused huge problems for me as I only had 2 months to finish my reno.

My best guess is that he just had much bigger projects on the go so he wanted an excuse to quit mine. Do you know why else I think that? I then hired one of the other masons - they were amazing and did the project with no problems whatsoever. What he did was so completely unprofessional and just a brutal thing to do to any homeowner.

Trizstan, if you read my review carefully, you would have seen that I hired another mason after you abandoned the project. He did it with absolutely zero problems - see attached pictures. I also had two other masons come see the wall and they all told me the same thing - this was not a "dangerous" job at all.

It only took me ~1 week to find someone else - I waited 3 months because I just submitted all reviews at the same time for everyone I worked with during my home renovation, and you were one of the worst experiences I had. The only reason I'm writing this review now is to tell anyone reading this that there are literally dozens of other great masons in the GTA area, don't pick one that will make you wait a month, only to abandon your project without warning.

My interlocking driveway was a mess and I was choosing between replacing it or fixing it. TRT Masonry & General Contracting came to my house, listened to what I wanted, took their measurements and came back with a proposal that included levelling the stones, washing and sealing them. When it came time to doing the work, I was really impressed with the crew - they worked hard in incredible heat and everyone was very respectful.
