Review for protect completed in early Dec 2022. From end/to-end, this was the BEST contractor/trade experience that weve ever had (and weve done our fair share over the years). Starting with the initial quote, Mike came by and gave us a comprehensive explanation of what our options were to repair/replace our aging front porch. He is clearly a seasoned construction professional and we found him to be really straightforward and honest. When it came to demolition and construction, Mike and Natasha did a fantastic job. They explained everything they were doing and why; they were totally flexible in design changes that we requested; they showed a great deal of pride in their work; lots of attention to detail; very tidy workspace; and just super accommodating overall. Workmanship was A+. Even during construction while our porch and deck were still unfinished, we got lots of compliments from our neighbours. What an absolute pleasure working with these folks! We are already thinking of calling them back for another project at the back of the house.

Had a deck that needed replacing. It wasn't that old, but it hadn't been built right the first time. Wanted to replace it with "fake wood" to reduce ongoing maintenance. Mike and his team come by promptly, evaluated the current deck, agreed we could use the existing foundations, and explained the ins-and-outs of "fake wood" (Trex composite). Decided to go with them - their quote was in-line with other contractors I spoke to. Once the material was available, they came by and had the deck built within a week (it was a small deck). Great experience. They were respectful of the surrounding plants, etc, they tidied up every evening, and when they were done, the work area was spotless and all rubbish had been hauled away. The team were professional, hard-working and very friendly and knowledgeable. They did exactly what they promised, did it well, charged what they promised it would cost, and no surprises. And Mike provided suggestions on how to design a nice privacy fence with inserts I purchased.
I have no reservations recommending Mike and the team.

We love the work E&M Contractors did for us recently, replacing all the eaves troughs on our 100 year-old home in Old High Park. The house looks outstanding! Mike and Tristan Zahari and Tristan’s wife Natasha were a pleasure to work with both in the planning phase and then throughout the installation, always making themselves available for discussion, and always providing solid professional advice, as well as great work on the eaves troughs themselves. Our new eaves troughs have leaf-guard coverings, as advised by Mike, so, no more climbing up and cleaning the gutters for me – ever again. Tristan and Natasha also provided carpentry work related to the eaves trough installation, replacing facia boards where necessary and repairing a badly water-damaged corner of the roof. We are very pleased with the creative advice E&M gave us throughout the job, including finding a way to resolve an awkward downspout drainage problem. We were impressed too, that Mike, Tristan and Natasha always took seriously our homeowner pride, supporting our keen interest in the look of our home, working with us for the best results. Our fence blew over in the wind storm earlier this year and needed to be replaced. E&M Contractors were recommended to us and we are delighted with the results. From the first consultation to the final visit they were professional, polite, and informative. Most importantly, the quality of their work was excellent. The project took about a week to complete and during this time their work was tidy and unobtrusive. They were careful not to disturb our garden or the neighbour's garden any more than absolutely necessary, preserving the existing plants growing along the fence. The fence & new gate look great and we are very satisfied.

We hired E & M Contractors to replace the front porch on our 116 year old home. Our aim was to replicate the general look of the old deck using modern materials and safety standards. The porch supports part of the second floor of our house so it was crucial that the job be done right. E & M exceeded our expectations - the new porch fits seamlessly with the style of our home and we have received a number of compliments from neighbours about how great it looks. We appreciated the attention to small details by the crew and they kept in constant communication through each step of the process.
