We did a full renovation with this company in 2020-2021. From the start, there were so many communication and honesty about deadlines issues that we were willing to look past given the fact that we were in the peak of the COVID pandemic. We finally got the work done after being delayed by over 4 months. While some parts of the house were done well, there were a number of workmanship issues that we had asked to be fixed throughout the process but never were. To add onto that, once we had moved in, we got no support from Carlos (the owner) once we had paid what we agreed on. He even had the audacity to try and charge us more than we had contractually signed to for him to complete the work.
To add insult to injury, we have learned in the last 2 months that they had cut corners in a significant way with our water proofing (that we had paid in full). We got water in our basement, and, when the insurance company came to clean up, we found out that not only did this company cut part of the waterproofing to finish the drywall installation, they also did not even bother to waterproof the washroom that was created in our basement as a new addition. They also did not install a sump pump.
I would highly caution anyone against using this company as the dishonesty, flawed communication and workmanship, lack of accountability and respect for the people who trusted them are all SERIOUS breaches of trust. I have even tried to call him in the last month to let him know what has transpired and have been met with nothing but a dissolution of responsibility when confronted to now being totally ignored when I call. This is not something I would want any else to experience so I feel compelled to share our experience with homestars so people can use caution when approaching this shady company.
