I enlisted the services of KDM Gas, to install a complete HVAC system, including furnace, AC, ductwork, and water heater. The owner of KDM gas Dan, assured me the job would take no more than two weeks. I scheduled my vacation to be on hand. Dans sheet metal guy Stephen, showed up only three days out of the entire two week duration. Dan sad his guys were either sick or on other more urgent jobs. In total, it took KDM three months to complete all the work.
As soon as the cooler temperatures set in. The furnace would shut down before reaching the desired setting on the thermostat. Upon further inspection, I noticed that three vents were not blowing air. I ended up calling a different contractor to see what was going on with the system. He told me that the furnace has been cutting out because is was reaching the high limit temp cut off. He told me the ductwork configuration is too narrow and was not built to the proper specifications. Not long after I noticed a loss of air pressure throughout the house. The top of the ductwork blew off, spewing out air out into the laundry room. Dan sent over somebody to take a look. They ended up using a sort of gray paste which they called ductseal and told me not to use it for 24 hours. The next day it was still leaking air. Dan again sent somebody over with a pail of ductseal.
Dan couldnt be bothered to stop by even once throughout the entire duration of the job to check on the progress. He relied solely on his inexperienced tradesmen for information. It seemed as though everyone Dan had working at the house was very young, and mostly all apprentices. No one was working with any sort of drawings or instructions which I thought was odd. Not one vent cover in the house would sit flush to the floor. They used Gobs of silicone to fill in gaps in the returned air duct. Although Dan has sent his apprentices, to fix some of the minor issues. The main problem of the undersized ducts and air escaping from the air Plenum still persist.
