Brian Mahon Masonry

We had hired Brian previously this year to rebuild the brick arch over a new exterior door in Leaside as well as repointing a couple of areas on the same wall. He did such a terrific and skilled job then, that it was natural that we contact him again to ask if he could rebuild a natural stone retaining wall for a raised garden bed. It had been dismantled for the purposes of waterproofing the outside of the front of our house. He was able to fit us in very quickly and came when he said he would. Brian is a very skilled mason. The best we have seen. Our wall looks as good as the day it was originally built. He also resurfaced a section of our cement driveway that was also destroyed by the waterproofing. He did a fantastic job with that as well. If only all tradespeople were as talented as he is! We highly recommend Brian.

We were having a new entry door installed at the side of our house but the installation was put on hold until we repaired unstable brickwork over the entry as the fear was that those loose bricks would fall on the installers while removing the old door frame. We also needed the opening to be higher, which meant removing the old arch and installing a steel lintel. We contacted Brian and he was confident he could do it. We also asked him to tuckpoint a few more areas at the side of the house. While he was here he acid washed all the new brickwork and some other brickwork previously done by another company. We were very pleased with the work that he did and felt it was a fair price to pay for such quality workmanship. When the door installers came back with our door, they made a point of telling us how neat and tidy the work was, they were pleased. The work Brian had done made the door installation that much easier. We do not hesitate in recommending Brian for your masonry needs. We certainly will keep his information on file for future!

I rely on Brian for quality masonry work at a fair price. He previously rebuilt our chimney and was able to salvage most of the bricks for colour match. His latest job, Brian had a great solution to stabilize our wobbly front limestone steps that were not installed properly by another contractor. My husband & I used Brian to do a very complicated masonry job where double lintels had to be cut in above a large door & window in an 85 year old building. Brian came out to the site to give me a quote and came up with a very innovative way to reinstall the large stone blocks around the doors archway. Most masons we spoke to had no idea how to reinstall these stones once the lintels were in place.

Brian was very meticulous with his work and a true craftsman! When he was finished, you could hardly tell any work was done.

I recently called Brian Mahon Masonry Inc. to repair an interlocking brick patio that had some raised areas due to tree root growth. The tree was removed in March and I wanted my patio repaired for the summer. I called Brian on a Tuesday and within 24 hours we had agreed on a date for the repair and the cost.

Three days later, Brian and his assistant Daniel arrived on time to start the job. Working straight through, Brian and Daniel removed about a third of the bricks on my patio, being careful not to damage them as I wanted them reused. Then, they removed four major tree roots that had caused the bricks to heave, creating a tripping hazard as well as some deep troughs in which water collected. With careful levelling and preparation of the foundation, Brian replaced the bricks perfectly and used special sand to fill in the cracks. I am very, very happy with the fully repaired patio. It is level and I've regained the use of the whole space again.
