The only reason I generously gave a two star rating is because the work is technically completed. However, the rush job, sheer laziness and poor quality of the work is glaringly obvious.

Silvio completed two jobs at our house - the first was refinishing the basement. We wanted the work completed quickly and before the summer was over so we overlooked MANY discrepancies. The second job was the stairs leading up from the basement - this job should have been ridiculously easy, simply sand and paint the stairs and railings. Silvio’s lack of attention to detail and rushed work was so obvious in this job, we had to say something.

When confronted on multiple occasions, we were told “everything would be fixed”. It never was and when he refused to come back to complete the final list of issues, we withheld a small percentage of the final payment. Instead of acting like a professional, who has apparently worked in the industry for 20 years, he immediately threatened legal action. He knew we wanted to sell our house and threatened to put a contractors lien on the property rather than work out a deal as grown adults. In the end he took advantage of our situation and bullied us into paying the final invoice to avoid court.

Not only is his work terrible, he’s a terrible person to work with. We’ve rennovated our entire house and worked with many many trades and have never had an experience like this.

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT hire this man or company to work in your home. There’s a reason he doesn’t have a google listing or reviews on his company page.... this is not the first time he’s done this and definitely won’t be the last.

In the fall of 2017 I hired Borsato Handyman to paint my wood sided home. We had purchased a solid stain product, but were overwhelmed by the size of the project. We agreed that Borsato Handyman Service would scrape, prep, seal wood joints, replace bad wood siding and paint the house.

In the spring of 2018, we noticed the wood they replaced had cracked and could be pulled off the house easily. We also see the sealant he used between boards wasn't the right kind (or shouldn't have been used at all, despite his advise) and has cracked/peeled/pulled away from the seams revealing the old paint colour and white lines.

One season is not long enough for a house painting job to look this bad.

Additionally, we only bought enough paint to coat 2 coats over the whole home. BUT, we are left with 5 cans of product. In the places they did coat twice, they didn't follow the re-coat time directions on the can and there is very poor adhesion.

When confronted, Borsato himself told me to expect a call from his lawyer. I just wanted him to come out and see the poor work, but it seems like he thought I was expecting him to follow up on a warranty/guarantee. All I was relying on was common courtesy, of which I received none.

Not recommended, ignored calls, texts and e-mails.
