Big City Electric

We engaged Big City Electric to remediate, remove, and rewire the knob-and-tube wiring that existed in our nearly 100 year old home. To summarize, the work that Paul and his team conducted was simply outstanding. We started this project not fully understanding the scope and difficulty involved, but we were quickly awed by the professionalism and quality of work done by Big City Electric. They quickly identified the problematic wiring, and developed a plan for how the old wiring would be removed and replaced in a manner that was the least disruptive to our family as possible. This project took place in the middle of winter, and we were concerned that we would lose our heat and not be able to live in our house as the work was done, but Paul ensured that the disruption to our family was minimal, and we always had heat, and critical power when needed. As a result, we were able to live in the house as the work progressed. Paul also replaced our electrical panel, and the end result of his work is a new and elegantly installed electrical system. Finally, I had the opportunity to see the City of Toronto inspector inspect the work at the end of the project, and was very happy to see that our feelings were validated by the very complementary words that were shared by the inspector to Paul, at the close of the project. I highly recommend Big City Electric for similar work - the value provided was well worth the investment.

Big city Electric did a great job. Paul took ownership over our jobs to ensure everything was taken care of, worked properly and that we were happy customers. Paul and the rest of the team treated our Facility like it was his and took care of my belongings. All of the work done was top-notch and he provided good advice for service. I had a number of projects (multiple days of work) including rewiring a basement, cleaning up the panel, installing new lights, outlets, etc on the second and third floor, and fixing some terrible electrical outside that the old owner left me with.

Job: panel changeover. Responds very quickly to messages, arrived on time, and got the job done. The TSA inspector and LDC took HOURS to get here (it was getting dark), but Paul was still very polite when they arrived. I am not electric-work savvy, but everything ran when power came back on, so that's super duper to me!

Saw Paul's truck in the area of my phone and after checking him out on HomeStars, I emailed him and arranged for a conversation. Had him over the next day to quote for changing out old pot lights (halogen with transformer) to new LED's. The hole/pot light size was the same but it was more work than I as a homeowner could handle. Paul provided a fair estimate and we hired him on the spot. The work was arranged to be done within a few days. Paul provides intelligent, personable service. The pot lights were changed out quickly and efficiently. We will call again should we require electrical work done.

Paul was one of the best trades I have ever dealt with. He was prompt in replying, arrived on time and completed the job efficiently. Paul explained what needed to be done before starting so we knew what the plan was. Pricing was fair and workmanship is outstanding. Highly recommend!!!!

Paul is incredibly respectful to me and explains everything in as much detail as I would like. He responds to texts immediately and is punctual for jobs and charges reasonable hourly rates. He installed many dimmers and updated the labels on the electrical panel switches during the job and has done other electrical work in addition to the dimmers (installed GFIs, installed under counter lights etc). I would highly recommend his company based on my excellent experiences with Paul and his assistant.
