DO NOT USE THIS BUILDER!
They were very nice to me all the way up until I signed the papers, then I had issue after issue with them.
1. Their interior decorator who you have to use to choose the finishings is useless. Everything I picked out she said she didn't like. I will take advice/consideration from other people but it was literally everything I looked at. I went with my gut and chose what I wanted anyway and have received compliments on everyone who has come to visit so far. She also didn't write down my selections correctly which turned into a several thousand dollar mistake from the original quote (which of course I had to pay for), but had I known it would be that much more I might have gone with alternative selections.
2. They nickel and dimed me. It seemed like every couple weeks as the house was going up I'd get a call to come to the showhome because something came up. I ended up having to pay several thousand dollars more because of their oversights or not the truth to squeeze money out of me. A couple examples:
-the driveway was longer than we expected (even though they had given me the final drawings for everything months before) so you need to pay us a few thousand dollars.
-we didn't tell you but the garage door needs windows, it's a neighborhood requirement, we need more money. (mine was one of the first houses to go up, now that there are more I realize this was not the truth as many houses don't have garage door windows)
3. What I was told was "standard" in the showhome wasn't... After the house was nearing completion I noticed things that were supposed to be standard being left out. When I asked they said they had made a mistake on the "standards" list, there were multiple items that were supposed to be listed as extras but were mistakenly listed under standard. I said I was expecting these items as it states the "standards" list right in the contract. They basically said too damn bad if you want any of those you'll have to pay to have it taken out and done the way you want. I spoke to my lawyer about this and he agreed I was clearly in the right but it would cost more to go to courts then it was worth.
4. The basement is currently leaking water, their advice to me was to monitor it. I'm still well within the one year warranty period but they do not want to do any work to fix it.
5. They included basic landscaping as part of the package. Since I moved in in November it was to be done first thing in summer. I signed a document saying they would have it done by July 1st, as of right now it's almost the end of September and they are still not done. The lady in charge of their landscaping department told me it is so delayed because of the weather, she said they couldn't work 2-3 days after it rained. A couple weeks ago they finally delivered the topsoil and placed it in a huge pile in the middle of my driveway so I couldn't get in or out. That night there was a huge thunderstorm and tons of rain. Yet the next morning they were out spreading the topsoil. When I confronted her about it since this exact type of weather was the apparent reason for the delays she was untruthful to me and said she never said that.
Sorry to whoever got through this, it turned out a bit longer than I was anticipating but I hope this steers any potential buyers away from this company. The stress of dealing with them in my opinion was not worth it, I know there are issues with most builders but the way they handled my issues was extremely unprofessional.
