Terrapave

Driveway paved in the morning, by early afternoon I found a spot bubling up and cracking. Seems the crew couldn't be bothered to find a garbage can and paved over water bottle. The hot sun was making the air/water to expand.

I was able to find the crew still working down the road to come fix it, but this is not a professional job.

I have had the pleasure of working with TerraPave for a number of years and I can say in no certain terms that the service and job quality has only been getting better and better over the years. I was referred to Jordan and have been impressed with his overall knowledge of my projects, his ability to meet my schedule, and more importantly his positive friendly demeanor. He's a first class guy and TerraPave is a first class company.

I had retained TerraPave Construction to remove and replace my existing asphalt driveway and interlock walkway. I met with three different companies and felt the quality of the customer service was superior than the other companies I interviewed. I was dealing with Jordan at TerraPave and he was very attentive to all my concerns. During the commencement of the work Jordan was onsite ensuring the project flowed smoothly. Highly recommend

I had work done by TerraPave about a year ago, which turned out wonderfully. I have no complaints other than having to wait a few weeks longer than originally quoted, but that's very normal with the paving industry, so this was not unexpected. The sales person I worked with, Jordan, was a pleasure to work with, as he was great at communicating and was always quick to answer my calls. In addition, the crew is also very professional and skilled at what they do. I would 100% recommend their work.

So disappointed with my new driveway done by Terra. It’s not even 1 year old and I have cracks on both sides down the length of the driveway My neighbour has the same issue and asked for a. Site visit. No call back just a card left in the door with no comment. Shame Shame

Contracted TerraPave 20 October, 2016 for Asphalt Work (gravel, precast curb, 2” asphalt) for $2,700, spelling out – top coat in 2017. Gravel and curb was done in 2016 ($1700 paid, the rest when complete).
•20 Sep, 2017 - contacted TerraPave to schedule my driveway as the City started to fix my curb.
•10 Oct, 2017 - the City was done – I have asked the company (J.) to schedule asap.
•23 Oct, 217 – asked again about the schedule – J. txt: “Next week. I’ll keep you posted.”
•27 Oct, 2017 – asked for update – J. txt: “We are behind schedule. Possibly 2 weeks.” “We are delayed on all fronts”
•2 Nov, 2017 – asked for update – J. txt: “I know I told you it was scheduled and it is however we have 300 homes to finish in Barrie… Once completed we will be back in TO.”
Me txt: “If another big contract comes in, we’ll be pushed back further…?
J. txt: “The contract was signed in the spring”
•13 Nov, 2017 - – asked for update – J. txt: “I believe next week I’ll be in the area. Again sorry for the delays but there’s not much I can do.”
•27 Nov, 2017 – asked for update – J. txt: “I’ll know tomorrow.”
•29 Nov, 2017 – asked for update – J. txt: “100% next week.” “There is no way to delay this project until spring??”
Me txt: “Nooooo, I have shovelled the gravel for a full winter and cleaned the garage from dirt and mud every other day. I would like to get it done asap please!”
J. txt: “Ok”.
•4 Dec, 2017 – phone call with J. and I was promised yet again “100% Thu or Fri”
•8 Dec, 2017 – asked in text message “100% today?”
J. txt: “Not today. Way too cold to pave. I’ll call you later.”
•I have called the company and was told that there is no way my driveway will be done this year, but one of the owners will call be back in a day or two to discuss it further.
•12 Dec, 2017 – since I have not heard from the owner for several days, I have called TerraPave again and expressed that they are in breach of contract. The response of a rather arrogant lady was: – The Company cannot control the weather, this is the nature of the business, I was not ready when the company was (???) and I can go complain where ever I want it does not matter!!!
•12 Dec, 2017 – Discussed with J. on the phone: - the intent was good, but the company has not fulfilled the contract. After I have asked him to pay for a contractor to shovel my gravel driveway (nobody would take such contract), he has offered $100 credit for the spring since I was morally right. He has expressed again that the company can’t afford to lose money, they can’t control the weather and though I was promised several times 100% delivery, people should understand that “this is the nature of the business...”

I had TerraPave do a quote for my work. The price was a good value. I signed a legal binding contract with a $200.00 deposit and $1200.00 on completion. Their sign was placed on the front lawn and all was in process. The weather had delayed them from starting the next week (Understood). We then received a phone call stating the following Tuesday they would start. I Called Wednesday when they didn't show again. I was told I was bumped to Friday ok so no worries. Weeks later without returned phone calls from Us they call and state the contractor that quoted us no longer works with them and If we want the job done it will be $1000.00 more than quoted. So I'm left with a legal binding contract signed June 13, 2017 with TerraPave and left hanging with no job completed. One month for them to tell me they are not doing it. I could have had another paving company do it by now. I have 2 other jobs to be done but can't until the driveway was complete. Bad business TerraPave.. Thanks for that.

I called various companies and quotes varied greatly, but why I essentially chose Terrapave was customer service. Jordan was quick to respond, and accommodated my availability. No damage was done to my beige stuccoed walls, and they cleaned up the premises nicely. They also had the equipment to accommodate tight, city driveways. The driveway now drains properly, away from the foundation walls, and it also adds to the curb appeal of the house.
