Harmony Basements brought a level of professionalism that ensured my project was done on time and on budget. They were very responsive to every issue / concern I brought up and made every effort to ensure I would be truly happy with the end result. I really enjoyed working with them and have no hesitation to give them a 10 star rating. I will enjoy my basement for years to come.

They did the job they were asked to do. Completed it in a reasonable time frame. When we had an issue with our barn doors 1 and a half years after the project had been completed they came to fix the issue without hesitation.

I wanted to finish my basement into an in law suit but I was very apprehensive because I had a really bad experience with renovations in the past. You get what you pay for and Harmony Basements was worth every dollar!!!
From start to finish the staff was professional, attentive, patient and RELIABLE. The work was completed ahead of schedule and without any hiccups, I am still in shock how well everything went.
My basement is BEAUTIFUL now.

While we had several added expenses along the way (always an issue when opening up an old basement) everything was taken care of and we are very satisfied with the result and we now have a completely new basement that we can enjoy for years to come. The attention to detail is spectacular from framing ,drywall, painting, hvac ,electrical to plumbing, the finished basement exceeded our expectations!

I will start off this review by saying that I am very particular about work quality and the service experience and can say without a doubt that Harmony far exceeded even my expectations! We are very happy with the outcome of the project both from a design and quality perspective. Our project Manager Diego was awesome to deal with. He was extremely organized and kept us in the loop with all aspects of the project. The project was completed on time even with unplanned additions to the design that I requested. I highly recommend this organization.

We had a wonderful experience with Harmony basements. They are prompt, professional and skilled at their job. Their prices are reasonable. Diego and his team are wonderful to work with. Special shout out to Diego who was very patient in answering all our questions, giving us good suggestions in maximizing the space in our basement and Stefany who provided great design suggestions. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the outcome.

The first thing to know is that it will absolutely not be done in two or three weeks. I know there are companies that promise that and Harmony also gave us an aggressive timeline, but it was never going to happen in my mind and it didnt.

The project manager, Cristian, was our contact for everything job related and coordinated all the different trades to come to the house. He was excellent from the start and had lots of suggestions to make things easier/cheaper to do as well as make things more aesthetically pleasing. Some of things were simple like which way a door should swing open and some things, like rerouting a gas line, were more complicated but he patiently explained his reasoning to us every step of the way and the we invariably agreed with all of his suggestions. He was also available basically all the time if we had a question or concern. I honestly dont know when he sleeps, but it was great as a customer.

Speaking of coordinating trades, that is something I appreciated with Harmony. When the electrical is done its done by an electrician. The drywall is done by a drywaller, flooring by a professional installer, etc., so there is a level of trust that exists with the tradespeople that you dont get from a jack of all trades type. The only complaint with that of course is the time it takes. Some days it might just be the the taping and muddying guy who is scheduled because it needs to be done before another job can happen. There are other times when that particular guy is occupied elsewhere and so nothing happens for a few days perhaps. Generally speaking, they do a good job of scheduling people but delays like this can happen.

My final word of caution is that you need to pay attention to your renovation. On a few occasions we did find something that we either hadnt expected or something that wasnt quite up to my wifes very high standards. As a result, we did have some times when a tradesperson had to return to fix something that wasnt quite right. While that can be irritating it also is part of the reason that we chose a reputable company. When those problems arose there was never a moments hesitation about fixing our issue or debate about whether we were overreacting, the project manager just made it right. In fact, at least once that I recall he had someone return for something he wasnt happy with even though we thought it was fine.

Ultimately, the job got done in about three months, which is longer than anticipated, but we are very pleased with the result. Its been almost a year now and they just sent someone out to fix a small issue with a door. It was literally a five minute job, but they sent someone anyway so I can confirm that Harmony is going to stand behind their work. You arent going to get that from the guy whos number you found on a telephone pole. We could have had it done a little cheaper, maybe even a little faster, but I cant imagine having it done any better. This is among the smartest investments Ive ever made and even with the caveats above Id highly recommend Harmony for your basement.

For anyone dealing with contractors it can be a very stressful experience.
Certainly, if you choose the wrong contractor(s) the stress only gets worse.
We did go through the process of obtaining quotes from multiple companies and did a lot of research on each and we finally decided on Harmony.
After understanding what we were looking for and the cost associated with those renovations, next was going to be trust and quality. Harmony lived up to all the items on our check list. When we first met Diego, we were suspect as he was a "contractor" like the others. He went through the info and allowed us to ask questions. After going through our process of deciding, we ultimately decided that Harmony had the best package and we felt very comfortable that they were going to do a great job. As Harmony was also a RenoMark Contractor, the choice became clearer.
Harmony was the only company to offer a foundation inspection prior to beginning work. As our basement was unfinished from the builder and we never has any issues, such as water, etc. we thought the inspection would just be routine.
When Leo arrived with the inspection specialist, after completing the initial inspection, we were shocked to see the issues we thought were not evident. In one respect we so glad to find the issues prior to spending a lot of money and in another sense, a little taken back at the additional expense to repair. When considering a basement renovation, the inspection should be a key first step. No one wants to find issues, as they equate to additional expense. However, if you are planning to spend a large sum of money on a renovation, you want to ensure you protect your investment. The decision to repair the foundation, was ultimately our choice and did not feel pressure from Harmony to complete the work.
Leo was a great project manager, very calm with us, helped us with any questions, and kept us updated as things moved along. We were told it would be 5-6 weeks which was fine with us. Leo and the Harmony team were respectful of our family, our space, and our home. Leo ultimately made the experience so easy, that there is no other company to choose, Harmony should be your final decision!
In the interest of complete transparency, I will say the one very small negative, was related to the finishes included versus the showroom experience. This is an area my wife and I may not have asked enough questions and the process of choosing the final selections was a little overwhelming. We don't suggest Harmony did anything underhanded or incorrect, although it is an area that I believe needed slightly more communication. Ultimately it worked out and it is a small criticism of the process, not Harmony.
As with any contractor/builder, if you are not aware or careful, you can add expense solely based on emotion of choosing one finish over another. When you finally choose Harmony, you should understand what finishes are included and when you go to the showroom to choose your selections, be prepared to spend some time, and choose with your head and not your heart.
We were so happy with the entire project that I had offered Leo anytime he had a client that wanted to ask questions, he could call me anytime. 2 years later, my offer stills stands as they are the standard all contractors should aspire to copy.
We were extremely delighted we chose Harmony as it allowed us to know that there is a contractor that is trustworthy, offers quality work, respectful of the area during the renovation, on time, on budget.
