Nightmare electricians

This is a family business started by the father and now inherited by the son. We used to be friends and neighbours. If they can treat their friends and neighbours like this, just imaging how they will treat the average customer.

Overpriced quote for a 200amp panel upgrade and EV charger. Nuisance tripping started immediately after install. Complete lack of after service. The demand was for $80 to come inspect their OWN work and their OWN parts. Justification given as the $80 cost to cover their time, fuel. No regard for how much of a headache the non-stop nuisance tripping of garage door opener, refrigerator was costing me and my family in time, having to reset the breaker 3-10 times just to get the garage door open or closed to get kids to appointments, to get to work, etc. Food was being spoiled from fridge turning off, dishwasher stopping mid cycle.
Their estimated quote was $1000-2000 OR MORE to tear down a BRAND NEW RENOVATION in the home to rewire the affected circuits "CORRECTLY".
Got a competent electrician who heard the story of nuisance tripping after 200amp panel change, he diagnosed the issue immediately, less than 5 minutes. He removed and replaced 3 Siemens AFCI breakers and the nuisance tripping stopped. Total cost for stopping nuisance tripping was less than $80.

Were they really so incompetent that they could not diagnose nuisance tripping in a faulty Siemen's AFCI? Or were they aware and just trying to self-refer for more income? Both are terrible possibilities to consider for so-called licensed electricians.

I let the electricians at Richmer electric know that their initial install was FAULTY. They responded by anonymously calling the electrical safety authority (ESA) to report me for exchanging breakers. This was just to inconvenience me further! Just a small taste of how petty this family is. Difficult personalities to deal with all around.

Needless to say, nobody needs "friends" like this.

To this day, there has not been a single word of sympathy or apology for the inconveniences and nuisances caused by their faulty work. They have absolutely no shame and no remorse.

My wife was trapped in the garage with a 2 month old baby crying in the car for an HOUR, running back and forth from the garage to the breaker panel in the basement, trying to get to a doctor's appointment for the baby. She gave up after an hour of the breaker tripping and the garage door not opening. A TOTAL NIGHTMARE.
