My wife and I locked ourselves out of our home. We called Mobile Locksmith and, on the phone, we were quoted $15 for the visit and $35 and up for the lock.
When he arrived, he told us that he could not pick the lock because it was a 6-pin lock, and that he would have to destroy the lock. He said that this would cost $89. When I asked why it would cost so much, he said it was becaue his drill bit was very expensive. I asked what type of a job would have cost $35, and he said that would be an internal bathroom knob. (Because we had identified the original problem as a locked front door, I felt that it was disingenuous for them to provide a lower price for something they knew was not related.)
Rubi destroyed the lock and then very aggressively tried to sell us a new lock. We declined and replaced it ourselves later.
Later, I learned that the lock in question was 5 pins after all-- so not only did they over-charge for a job they didn't have to do, they actually destroyed our lock unnecessarily, I believe just so they could sell us one of their own.

- Stop misleading people about cost, destroying locks uncessarily, and being pushy about selling people new locks they don't need

I have never done this work. Mr. Matthew Nowak from York should be more careful when comparing the name of the company on the invoice with the name of the company on the internet site to which he post the review - some have similar names - and that will save him a lot of money one day on legal cost!
And to let customer's know the cost of my service call is not $15 but $99 plus tax.
And the cost of a new lock starts not from $35
but from $50. And my name is not Rubi and I never had any employee called Rubi. As a matter of fact I never had any employees - all work done by me.
And because of my location - Bathurst and Steeles - I never go to York ( to much traffic and parking issues ).
