Complete Home Inspection

I called this company to do my home inspection because it had quite good reviews. Well this business is nothing like that!!!!. They put a real pretty report together about how they checked all these things and behind everything they check there is wording that says it worked that minute and if it does not work after that minute tough luck for you!!! They check the asphalt shingles on the roof with binocular if you can believe that!! And state too dangerous to go up on the roof HUN!!!! Is that not their business!! What a joke! I did not run my dryer for a couple of weeks after the inspection because they indicated it was fine for that moment they ran it and then I just turned it on for the first time ( Only 3 weeks) and it is making a quite loud clunk. So I called the owner and said did they not notice this and did they not run the dryer very long or at all. He said I should have run it during my final walk through and they are not responsible for anything like that. He also was very defensive and basically told some sad story about his water heater that failed after a month of moving to his new house. Like that is even a fair comparison. NOT!!!! I would NEVER recommend this company and be very careful at spending $500 dollars on these types of inspections because they really tell nothing that you could not do yourself as they are NOT responsible if anything they have checked fails the second they leave your house!!!!! Don’t waste your money!!!! Inspection was done July 2018 on a house built in 2015.

Approximate cost of services:
$500.00

Company Response

Thank you for your call yesterday, I hoped that I had explained that appliances can have issues at anytime in there life span - with regards to your dryer there is a thermal image in your report showing it producing heat, so showing it was test by the Inspector, so if the noise was present during the inspection this would had been documented. Buying a used home with appliances there is always the chance they will have issues, yes we can only comment on the day of the inspection. I have read the report and it is extremely thorough and detailed. In regards to the roof not all 2 stories are safe to mount and in this case it was too dangerous, I do not expect my inspectors to risk there lives to inspect a roof, we use the best equipment in these circumstances, and add in the report - if concerned contact a roofer prior to close. All home inspectors have disclaimers set by the Alberta government, and insurance. I feel your comments (like the thanks for nothing one on the phone yesterday) are unfair. I was polite, sorry you dryer had started to make a noise but I'm afraid it's part of being a home owner. Your 1 star is unfair so I will let all the other reviews speak on our behalf.

My water tank that failed 3 weeks after I moved in cost me $1300 I'm did not call the home inspector back I understood that it's part of owning a used home.
