Larry The Garage Door Guy

Do not recommend! buyer beware! Larry was recommended to us by our neighbour. They were able to schedule very quickly and promised us quick, reliable service, prompt maintenance and warranty We paid $550 + to install a garage opener - another local company charges $175 (we didn't do our homework) and they coerced us into signing in.

Our garage door has been squeaking since installation. We have called repeatedly, sent text messages and now they are telling us they are too far away to service us (they are in Scarborough) and may "pass by" when in the area. Why take the business if you are unable to support the warranty agreement and service call? We were told we had to pay for the service call, yet when they came into install, we were told Service and parts were covered for 1 yr. Cindy is rude and brusque and hung up as we tried to explain the issue with the opener.

Nothing was too much trouble for Cindy. I gave her the details of my request and she was just simply so helpful.

My garage door wouldnt close it was stuck open and raccoons kept coming in. I called Larry the garage door guy and they sent someone out to us immediately!! I had a great service with them !

BEWARE FELLOW CONSUMERS:
On December 16, 2021 I called "Larry the garage door guy" as a result of a malfunctioning garage door. Wow, "Larry" showed up the very same day and assessed the malfunction to be the spring mechanism and that the Chamberlain door opener was fine.
With a $100 cash deposit (parts) "Larry" promised to have the door fixed by Christmas.
Well Christmas came and went and after several follow-up calls, somebody other than "Larry" finally showed up on January 15, 2022. This individual COULD NOT finish the repair that day. On top of which when closing, the top panel of the garage door hit hard a bracket that he installed causing damage to the door itself. He could not get the door to close all the way to the floor, "swearing" that he would come back on Monday to complete the job to include grinding down that bracket.
I paid via e-transfer another $200, holding back $100 from the original quote.
I guess by now you all know where this is going.
NOBODY showed up the following Monday. Zero communication from this company. When I finally reached the individual to whom I sent the e-transfer to and presented several options to include at the very least a partial refund, I was effectively told to F/O, notwithstanding many, many, many pics and videos of the process and damage that these folks caused.
So a few words to consumers out there regarding this company - UNSCRUPULOUS, INCOMPETENT, MORALLY AND ETHICALLY BANKRUPT.
The good news, however, it's people like this who keep Small Claims Court in business,

What an absolute pleasure it is to deal with Larry. I called him on a Sunday evening and he was there on Monday before 10 AM . Larry is fast, friendly and knows his stuff. I had my door fixed about 3 years ago by another company and Larry pointed out what they had done wrong and why it had broke again. He replaced the cables, bearings, rollers and reset the spring. He also leveled the door. He even got the remote controls working again. The door is almost 50 years old and now it works like new. Honest and fair. I'd recommend Larry's services to anyone who is having garage door issues.

After trying to find someone to install a side mount opener in a low headroom garage I came across Larry on the web. After sending a couple pics he said he was able to install no problem. I had 5 other guys from kijiji tell me it’s not possible. He did a great job and was quick with his install. Very friendly service and would definitely recommend for install and repairs of all things garage related.
