My husband and I are in the process of planning for a 2nd and 3rd floor renovation to our home. We had been struggling with identifying what we most needed to get out of the renovation and were thinking that we required a huge expansion to our 3rd floor. Jeff was exceptionally helpful at clarifying our thinking, and also identifying alternative solutions that would both meet our renovation goals as well as cost less than our original planned reno would have. He was very prompt in responding to my initial call, and in following up every time we emailed him. I would highly recommend reaching out to him if you are considering a renovation to your home.

When I noticed a damp patch in the plaster ceiling in an upstairs bedroom, The painting firm working in my house at the time (Finer Edge - excellent) recommended Jeff Clarke to take a look. Jeff arrived the next business day and over the course of an hour advised me not only on how to fix the ceiling problem, but also how to improve water pressure in this 93-year old house, fix the inefficient outdoor drain in the back stairwell, the gaps in the brick surrounding a window and the poor grading in front of the house - and even provided design ideas for the very awkward, soon-to-be-renovated bathroom! Money well spent - I really appreciate his professional independent advice, knowledge and experience and would recommend him without reservations.

I had a problem with some brickwork and needed the value of the work done to be assessed quickly. Jeff was able to help me with that. I found his advice fair and reasonable. He recommended trying an approach that would not involve him having to spend significant time working on an expertise and this approach was successful. I took this opportunity to have a full inspection done on my house and found that very useful. What I liked was that Jeff explained and wrote things down very clearly. He also recommended people to do the various jobs and for the most important jobs, he said he could help me supervise the work if needed. I wish that I had consulted Jeff before contracting for the brick work. I would have avoided a lot of aggravation and I would have saved a lot of money. Now I know. I recommend Jeff without any hesitation.

After moving into our first home, we found a few issues that needed addressed including correcting a water leak and improving our heat efficiency. I have worked with Ed twice now - first when we purchased our home to do a home inspection and now a second time to consult on a complete basement renovation. He is VERY knowledgeable, honest, friendly and easy to work with. As I hope to do as much of the work myself as possible, he was extremely helpful in educating me, pointing out what I "must-do", "should-do", and "could-do", and suggesting alternatives.
