Ec Contracting

This is an honest review of this company.

We hired Eris to do our renovation. It was a disaster from the start. Unfortunately we paid him in cash. He used unqualified contractors, refused to pull permits, and took alot of money from us without doing any work which he refused to return. His reason - let me finish the job. As you can see from the photos it was a nightmare. Our renovation wreaked of someone with no experience.

He did not pull electrical permits, the electrical was not to code nor was the plumbing, he refused to provide insurance until we finally hounded him and he sent us something, and then WSIB confirmation.

Doorways were not framed, heated flooring wiring was run to an electrical outlet instead of the box, no floors were level - he had the audacity to tell us we should have asked him to do that. No reputable contractor tells a client that. ESA was going to fine us because he covered up all the faulty wiring with drywall. The plumbing was incorrect and he left pipes sticking through our shower wall! The toilet was so close to the shower wall you couldn't use it.

The second instalment we gave him he did NO work afterwards. We finally asked what was going on and warning bells went off. We finally pulled this job and asked him for the money back which he refused - instead of doing the right thing.

His kitchen company MWood couldn't understand how the kitchen was supposed to go, couldn't get measurements correct. We realized after our last visit with them (8 times or more they had to ask us about measurements etc) that we were being taken.

We had to pay another company to come in and completely gut the place and fix the damage he and his inept contractors did to our home.

He cost us thousands and we were out of our home for months because of him.

DO NOT use this guy for any renovation.

The work done with EC contracting was exceptional . I had hired this company for rennovations for my bathroom. The work was exceptional. Extremly professional and perfectly done! I cannot wait to further do work with EC contracting! Eris made everything so simple and stress free.

We are totally impressed with Eris's professionalism. He prepared detailed his scope of work with his estimate and completed the job on time and budget. He worked quietly and efficiently and cleaned up each day. Eric takes pride in his workmanship and the results demonstrate it. We are 100% pleased with him and his work and would not hesitate recommending him to family or friends.
