Bought a brand new build from this builder.
The problems started almost immediately as my basement floor had to be jack-hammered up when the house began to stink because they had hooked sewer lines up to weeping tile and vice versa. The house's sewage was all being sent into the weeping tile and sump-pumped out onto the front lawn.
What else... a bathtub design that led to shower water draining out onto bathroom floor...had to re-do the set up out of pocket for $8,000+. Another tile/glass shower stall where the threshhold angled out to the bathroom floor so all the water that hit the glass inside drained out to the bathroom floor...another redo $6000+. Burst water pipe fitting in garage ceiling led to drywall damage and leak. Faulty eavestrough and leaks at one side of house. All kitchen cabinets have to be replaced after just 5 years as the cabinet maker used cheap paint and the mdf has dissolved... $20K+. Builder cheaped out on windows....5 or 6 still don't properly close. Builder cheaped out on interlock driveway contractor and pathways....have to re-do at cost of $14,000 as the ground wasn't compacted properly. The deck was so badly built, it's falling apart after just 5 years... the concrete footings crumble to the touch. According to contractors, it was never built to code in the first place. The builder claimed he didn't know but his contractors buried so much bricks and construction waste and then just sodded over that in the yard. They took many, many short-cuts and used some very bad contractors...we are paying a helluva lot of money to repair an essential brand new house. I would highly caution anyone buying a home that was constructed by this novice contractor.
