DO NOT HIRE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
I hired this company to do my main floor including kitchen, living room and dining room, as well as removing a non load bearing wall. Josephine seemed so nice in the beginning and we gave our job to them after she ensured us she or her husband would be on site daily, and the work would be done by professionals.
The first day of demo I took the day off work as Josephine said they were coming to receive the bin, but she never showed up when the bin came or at any point that day at all. When she did show up, she did the demo herself instead of having a qualified team present. While Josephine was removing the kitchen sink, a pipe burst and water flooded downstairs to the basement kitchen through the light fixtures. She then claimed it was due to "previous damage on the pipe" rather than accepting blame, and had to call in a plumber which we had to agree to pay $450 before she could continue the work. It damaged our downstairs and she promised to replace the part of the ceiling she damaged (never happened). Many days they told us they were coming at a certain time and never bothered to show up at all but felt because she texted us that made it ok. They left sub contractors working who would show up and leave for lunch after being here not even half hour. When the workers were here, they were sitting around on their phones instead of working. Their subcontractors left our front door unlocked at one point when they left the house. We only discovered it after, leaving our home vulnerable to burglary. When question as to why this happened, Josephine claimed that they informed us, which was not true.
Whenever we asked about work timelines (why they were not honest) or inquired as to why she did certain things, Josephine would get upset and threatened to end our contract because she "couldn't take it anymore."
Finally, Josephine verbally broke our contract on the phone, saying she refused to come back to finish the work. She left our home in an unsafe and unhealthy state, with no kitchen, no floors, unfinished insulation, open electrical work, and severe dust and dirt everywhere. To make matters worse, Josephine sent us an additional bill of $3500 (in addition to the $8000 we already paid her). She texted us to inquire about retrieving her tools from our home while we were away at work. When we told her that we were not home to allow her to get her tools, and that she would have to wait until we were home, she threatened to call the cops on us and forcefully remove her tools.
In short, this company is hostile, rude, unprofessional and inconsiderate. They did not treat our project with any priority, as they were working on various larger projects, as they told us. The average home owner is not a priority to this company. We are now left to hire a new team to finish the job because she refuses, and we are left stranded.
DO NOT waste your hard earned money on these people. They will take advantage of you.

I had originally been asked to write a good review for Dom at Mreno Properties Ltd., and was happy to do so .. at the time. Even though I had had to wait quite a long time for the project to finish, Dom and his wife seemed so nice, I was patient. Unfortunately, after the fact, Dom never returned to finish the work that was botched or keep even one of his several promises. Or return my phone calls. All of the unfinished or poorly done work had to be fixed, which cost me more money as well. Shame on the owners of this company.
