Here is our response to your review:

I had 2 window installation jobs and picked Vinyl City for it because the quote was just a few dollars less than the competitors. BIG MISTAKE! For the first job, they got one window size wrong, took out my old window and can’t install the new one. Left a BIG HOLE on the side of my house for almost 2 weeks while they went to re-order. with no apologies at all! if it wasn't for me calling them to get the last window installed soon for security reasons, they would have take over a month of time according to them.

Vinyl City: This is our first job with you. Our factory did a mistake and we had to reinstall your window and it was done promptly. You were satisfied

At that time, I have paid for my deposit for second job already so no back out.

Vinyl City: We work according to Canadian Consumer Protection Act which states that every customer has a right to cancel a contract with full deposit refund for any reason (all the details are stated at the back of our every agreement) . You had this opportunity and why you did not use it is your full responsibility.

For second job, the quote they give me were based on measurements MUCH LARGER than the actual window. For example, two windows they measured 60"x60", but actually were only 56"x57"! off by 3 square feet each!

Vinyl city: You called our representative and gave windows’ measurements which were done by your tenants over the phone. According to that the price was given to you. THAT IS A BIG LIE THAT MEASUREMENTS WERE MADE BY US AND WE TRICKED YOU!!!

Then they charged me based on their measurements hoping i wouldn't notice. When I later measured myself and realized the difference. I called them to point out their trick, and what bad attitude they gave me! In the end they credited me $180 for their mistakes, but who knows how many other people they tricked with this technique.

Vinyl City: The measurement was DONE BY YOUR TENANTS and later given to us over the phone. You were told before signing the contract that when our installers come to your place for final measurements you are free to ask for credit if your windows are smaller. We apologize for misunderstanding when you called about this issue. Because it was not included in the contract but instead was negotiated verbally with our salesperson we had some misunderstanding. Eventually you were given the credit of $180 the same day you called without any delays.

Never install with them again. potential customers, BE WARE!

Vinyl City: After doing a good job we are gravely unhappy to receive such bad review about our company. We try to do the best job possible to satisfy our customers. Sometimes we make mistakes as all people do especially when doing custom made projects. In the recent phone follow up about your windows you said that you are fully satisfied with the windows installed and have no issues. We also talked about this review and we discussed every issue mentioned here and we explained every aspect of it to you from our point of view. We apologized for some misunderstanding we had and asked you if you can change some untrue statements in your review. You said that you would gladly do it for 1000 dollars rebate we pay to you!!!!! That is so unfair…..

Update: They actually contacted HomeStars team saying I was not a customer after seeing this review and tries to get it removed. How shameful. After providing Home Star review team all the evidences of invoice and payments to them, this review is back up. Thank you Homestars team for standing up for consumers.

Vinyl City: We did contact Homestars team saying that you are not our customer because we did not realize at first who you were. Your name is Chao and not Charlie and the job was done in Barrie and not Mississauga or Vaughan.
