Mike The Downtown Handyman

Mike is very unprofessional. He does sloppy work and then acts poorly when confronted about it.

I hired Mike to paint my condo walls, mount my TV, lights and other various tasks. Nothing was done properly.

Mike mounted my TV using just 3 drywall anchors and refused to mount it into the studs because they are metal (which is silly). He used massive washers so I can't even collapse my stand properly. He didnt fix this after I brought it to his attention.

My walls werent painted properly, he got paint on my ceiling, baseboards and sofa (which I cant get off). He even painted half the wall behind my fridge and then stopped. Probably because I told him NOT to paint my kitchen... but he never corrected this mistake when he made it. So sloppy.

I noticed yesterday that one of my ceiling lights wasnt installed properly and is totally slanted.

Susan did a decent job fixing the pillar Mike painted, but its still far from perfect. She said he didn't use the proper method.

Overall his work was extremely unprofessional and I feel like I threw away $2000. The painting was supposed to be done in 2 days, but lasted 2 weeks because he kept on coming back for repairs. I got so fed up near the end that I hired someone else and paid them $750 to fix Mike's mistakes.

I can never recommend Mike. See photos attached of the kind of work he did.

I was moving and needed help: everything from setting up my TVs and computer to unpacking, hanging pictures, and calming me in stressful situations. Michael works fast and furious; he is creative, helpful, makes great suggestions and has a great work ethic. He always showed up when he said he would; he got the work done quickly and efficiently and he was a joy to have work with me.
