M&M Quality Homes

Very unprofessional and over-priced job. This company does not live up to it's name - "M & M Quality Homes". Not only was the deck not built to very high standards and quality but some of the quotes I was given for the little extras came in much higher in price and much lower in quality than I was promised. The pot lights I had installed on the bottom of my deck (my deck is 10 feet off the ground) started to fall out of the wood they were installed into and of a package of eight lights (which cost $70 at Home Depot), I only received seven lights; not sure what happened to the eighth!! Also, these seven lights were installed into a 1 x 2 x 10 piece of wood that costs no more $20 at Home Depost (plus the $70 lights) cost me $280; I was quoted $250. The price was already over-inflated at $250 so I'm not sure how it went even higher and then, like I said, the lights have already started to fall out. Some of the spindle railing was done by his 12 year old son and was not done properly. When I contacted Peter to come and fix the section of railing his son screwed up, he was very rude and now, more than three months later, he has not returned to fix it. The final touches on the top of the railing were terrible; none of the joins matched up. I could have cut the wood to fit better myself! I hired a company to do a higher perfection job but was sadly disappointed!! I would stay as far away from this unprofessional company as possible. He also ripped me off for an extra $100 which I gave him inadvertantly (it had been a long week and a long day when I paid him at 7:30 that night). He denied and said I hadn't given him anything extra; I know for a fact I did. So at the end of the day, I paid too much for the quality of job I received plus the extra $100 I gave them by mistake. I wish I would have had a review or two to go by on this company when I was looking for a contractor. I hope to save at least one other person the grief of utilizing this company!!
